roaden our members and community awareness
With the Change of Guard so to speak Our new President Deema P Johnston JP (Justice of the Peace) has brought us into the future with our Past President Mal Johns. We are hoping to get more interaction from our Golden Plains and wider community.

🇦🇺 **REMEMBRANCE DAY – A LASTING TRIBUTE TO OUR COMMUNITY**

There are now only **four weeks left** to order your commemorative brick or paver, with sales closing on **30 September 2026**.

These pavers are more than just bricks in the ground — they are a lasting way for our **local community to remember, honour and recognise** the service and sacrifice of our veterans, service personnel, families and loved ones.

Whether you are remembering a family member, a mate, a veteran, or someone special who has made a difference in your life, this is an opportunity to create a permanent tribute that will remain part of our community for years to come.

🇦🇺 **The commemorative pavers will be unveiled on Remembrance Day, Wednesday 11 November 2026**, following the Remembrance Day Service at the **Inverleigh War Memorial**.

The unveiling will take place at approximately **11:30 am at the Inverleigh RSL Sub-Branch**, giving our community the opportunity to come together after the service and share in this special occasion.

We encourage everyone who would like to be part of this lasting tribute to get their orders in before **30 September**.

**Four weeks to go — don't miss the opportunity to leave a lasting mark of remembrance in our community.**

**Lest We Forget. 🇦🇺**

Today marks Malaya and Borneo Veterans’ Day, where we commemorate those who served in the Malayan Emergency (1948–1960) and the Indonesian Confrontation (or Konfrontasi, 1962–1966).

We pay tribute to the 61 Australians who lost their lives in these conflicts, whose names are listed on the Roll of Honour.

In the Last Post Ceremony for today, we commemorate the life of Private Robert Charles Moncrieff, who was killed during the Indonesian Confrontation in 1966. Watch live at 4.30 pm AEST: https://brnw.ch/21x5jlI
