Bright Beginnings was an active and fun filled morning for our families. We welcomed one new family and a new Bub. We played a fun game of Hide and Seek as well as Peek-a-boo with coloured scarves.
Outdoor play consisted of water play and melting dinosaurs trapped in ice. The children worked collaboratively together to achieve their goal of freeing them, with gasps of excitement. Balls, toy aeroplanes, and putting matchbox cars down ramps were popular.
Learning to roll green dough into caterpillar shapes helped our little ones develop their motor planning skills as they moved and manipulated the material. We examined the growing silkworms again, which had more than doubled in size.
During group time we sang a song about dynamic rolling waves whilst all holding on to stretchy Lycra together. Then we then bounced our teddy up and down on the material and sang about that. Our group love lively play where they can all participate together. We sang familiar nursery rhymes and used puppets to retell the story of The Gingerbread Man.
It was fun to introduce the children to this cheeky, but likeable character.
As some families were leaving, they discovered a baby possum with an unwell mother outside, so the families worked together to phone the local wildlife authorities to find the right person to help care for the baby possum. Our group demonstrated our caring ethos by doing so. We look forward to gathering again on Wednesday next term. Wishing everyone a safe and happy spring break.
