Once complete, it will link the trail right through from Laura to Stone Hut and on to Wirrabara. Making it even easier to get out and explore the region.

ℹ️ What’s changing at the 2026 Council elections?
Following a Council Member Representation Review completed in May 2025, two key changes will apply at the 2026 elections:
👉 The Mayor will be elected directly by the community
👉 Council will no longer be divided into wards, with all Council Members representing the whole district
These changes affect how members are elected and how the community is represented.
