Rewards Day is about recognising the students who consistently make positive choices, demonstrate good behaviour and contribute to our school community.

💛 R U OK? DAY 💛

Today, Flagstone State Community College came together to recognise R U OK? Day and remind our students and staff that a simple conversation can make a difference.

Our Wellbeing Team organised a whole-school BBQ, with the wonderful volunteers from Flagstone Blokes generously giving their time to cook for our entire school community.

It was a great opportunity to connect, check in with one another and reinforce an important message: you don’t need to be an expert to ask, “R U OK?” 💛

A huge thank you to Flagstone Blokes and everyone who helped make the day possible.

Exploring the world of Trades, Manufacturing & Construction!

Yesterday our students had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Logan Jobs Expo for Trades, Manufacturing and Construction Industries!

It was a great chance for students to explore the wide range of career pathways available beyond the traditional classroom, connect with industry professionals, learn about apprenticeships and traineeships, and get a better understanding of the skills and qualifications needed to enter the workforce.

From construction and electrical to manufacturing, engineering and other hands-on careers, students were able to see just how many exciting opportunities are available right here in our local community.

Congratulations to our Visual Art students selected for ARTWAVES!!

Once again, the talents of a several, exceptional Visual art students are on display as part of the Logan and adjacent areas secondary schools’ art exhibition, also known as “ARTWAVES”. This exhibition is held annually at the Logan Art Gallery, Logan Central, featuring many artworks from Year 7 to Year 12 students.
This prestigious exhibition showcases a selection of artworks that have been chosen by a panel of gallery members from about 32 Logan and adjacent area schools.

The Art Department here at Flagstone State Community College is proud and excited to announce the inclusion of three of our passionate and hardworking students into this fantastic exhibition. We are thrilled to congratulate Jessica (Year 11) for their work titled, ‘Christmas is coming’, Evie (Year 11) for their work titled, ‘Baby caterpillar and his older brother Billy butterfly’ and Princess (Year 9) for their work titled, ‘Colourful notes’.

You will be able to view this exhibition at the Logan Art Gallery from the 12th September to the 24th October. The Arts Department welcomes all members of our Flagstone community to support our art students as they showcase their work for the duration of the exhibition. Go along and be amazed at the sophistication of our students' work as well as the exceptional artistic talent in our area.

💙 DID YOU KNOW WE HAVE A SCHOOL HEALTH NURSE?

We’ve had lots of students talking and asking questions about mental health lately, so during one of our Rock & Water sessions, we gave students the chance to anonymously write down any questions they had.

We then invited Jordan, our School Health Nurse, into the session to answer them. It was great to see how engaged the students were, they listened well, asked some really thoughtful questions and got helpful information directly from a health professional.

Jordan is at Flagstone State Community College every Monday and Tuesday and can support students with mental health and wellbeing, stress, sleep, healthy relationships, nutrition and general health concerns.

It was also a great way for students to get to know Jordan and know who they can turn to at school if they need some extra support. 💙
