Our History:
The State Emergency Services started as the Civil Defence Service in 1955 and changed to SES in the 1970s. The Wanneroo SES Unit was formed in the early 60's and moved to our current purpose built building in 1986 which has been upgraded several times since. We now fall under DFES and respond to calls ranging to car vs houses, search for missing persons, fire support, storm damage and many more.

🚨 Training in Action | Perth Hills 🚨

A few weeks ago, Metro SES Vertical Rescue teams joined forces with St John WA Special Operations Paramedics for a day of challenging, realistic rope rescue training in the Perth Hills.

Working in tough terrain, crews were tasked with locating, accessing and conducting a complex 90-metre vertical rescue of pre-positioned casualties from the base of the waterfall.

These scenarios help ensure our responders are ready for the real thing, building strong partnerships and refining the specialist skills needed when lives are on the line.

Last week, our team joined forces with St John WA and their incredible Special Operations Paramedics for a complex multi‑casualty training exercise.

Working side‑by‑side, our crews located, treated, and safely extricated our “casualties,” Dustin and Cliff, from the simulated accident site and transported them to the awaiting ambulance below!🚑

These scenarios help us stay sharp, coordinated, and ready for when the community needs us most. 🚨
