Local businesses, employers and individuals working within the manufacturing and engineering sectors are encouraged to consider the upcoming CNC Machining Fundamentals course through TAFE NSW.

This fee-free training provides participants with an opportunity to develop practical skills and knowledge in CNC machining and programming.

🌼 CANOLA GATEWAY FESTIVAL – THIS WEEKEND! 🌼

The wait is over! Junee’s inaugural Canola Gateway Festival gets underway tomorrow, with two days showcasing our community, local businesses, performers and everything that makes our region special.

From Saturday’s Golden Gateway Concert at the Athenium to Sunday’s Harvest Day in Memorial Park, there is plenty happening across the weekend.

Junee Shire Council is proud to support this new event and we encourage residents and visitors alike to get out, enjoy the festivities and help make the first Canola Gateway Festival one to remember.

RAILWAY SQUARE - TEMPORARY VEHICLE CLOSURE

Please be advised that Railway Square will be closed to vehicular access tomorrow morning, Wednesday 26 August, to allow for the 2026 Junee Community Book Week Parade.

Motorists are asked to take care in the area, follow any traffic management arrangements in place and allow additional time when travelling nearby.

While there may be a short disruption to vehicle access, we’re very excited to see Railway Square filled with students, families and some very familiar book characters for one of the most enjoyable days on the Junee calendar!

Residents of Joffre Street are advised that recycling bins that were not collected as scheduled will be collected by Cleanaway tomorrow, Friday 21 August.

Please leave your recycling bin out and accessible for collection.

Junee Shire Council is seeking an organised, proactive and customer-focused Business Support Officer (WHS & HR) to provide administrative, compliance and systems support across Council’s Work Health and Safety, Human Resources, Training and Staff Development functions.

Reporting to the Risk Manager, this role will contribute to maintaining workforce compliance, employee records, training and competency systems, workplace safety programs and organisational reporting processes.

This is a varied position suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple business functions, maintaining accurate systems and records, supporting employees and helping an organisation meet its safety, workforce and compliance obligations.

𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
• Current Class C NSW Driver's Licence.
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC), or ability to obtain.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲
• Previous Local Government experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge or experience in work health and safety and/or human resources.
• Demonstrated knowledge or experience in Return-to-Work Coordination.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and/or Human Resources Management.
