PUBLIC NOTICE | PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO LOCAL PLANNING POLICY 9.12 – SHORT-TERM RENTAL ACCOMMODATION

The Shire is currently seeking public comment on proposed amendments to Local Planning Policy 9.12 – Short-Term Rental Accommodation (STRA).

The updates are intended to provide greater direction on the location and management requirements associated with this form of development.

The amended policy can be accessed via https://www.dandaragan.wa.gov.au/consultations/

Submissions are being accepted via [email protected] until 5.00pm, Wednesday, 7th October 2026.

The Shire has received an event application for a new tarmac motorsport event proposed to be held in Jurien Bay in May 2027.

The weekend would include closed-road rally stages and a community event along the foreshore.

JURIEN BAY | INTERMITTENT WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION
Monday 24 August – Friday 28 August 2026, 11:00PM to 5:00AM.

Water Corporation will be undertaking water efficiency works in Jurien Bay Monday 24 August 2026 through to Friday 28 August 2026.

This work has been scheduled during the evening to minimise disruption to customers. Possible short interruptions to water supply may be experienced between 11:00PM to 5:00AM including low pressure, discolouration, outages are not expected to last longer than an hour. We advise customers to plan for this water outage by storing some water ahead of time.

If discolouration occurs, run the outside garden tap at the front of your property for a few minutes, until the water clears.
