Does TT replace QCRSC...?
Yesterday Motorsport Australia launched the 2027 Trophy Tour, with 35 events planned across the country. It's also aimed at growing State Championship racing.
Does the arrival of Trophy Tour mean the end of the Queensland Circuit Racing State Championship (QCRSC)?
No! Motorsport Australia, through each of its State Councils, approves State Championship Sporting Regulations each year. Nothing really changes, as in past years each category runs at a number of set events, with wiggle room that some may include extra dates on top of that.
So think of the Trophy Tour as the Event Platform, the same as Supercars and SpeedSeries.
Where Supercars events are dominated by Supercars and other headline national series, and SpeedSeries is dominated by GT style cars and competitions, Trophy Tour will be dominated by State Championships and Series.
But don't rule out some of those local categories having additional QCRSC-included rounds at other events, and of course some other interstate and national Championships and Series might join a Trophy Tour round from time to time.
While the new TT website including the calendar is up and running now (link in comments), expect the 2027 Sporting Regulations for the QCRSC to be loaded up during January like every other year, documenting each of the State Titles.
