The Shire of Coolgardie would like to share that Councillor Corey Matthews has stepped down from his role for personal reasons.

Shire President Paul Wilcox acknowledged Cr Matthewsโ€™ contribution, thanking him for his commitment to the community and his role in helping guide the Shire through a period of change, including supporting financial recovery efforts.

We respect Coreyโ€™s decision and ask that his privacy is observed at this time. We wish him all the best for the future.

The Shire will now begin the process to fill the vacant Council position.
