We are hosting an Emergency Management Academy between now and February 2025 in the Mackay Region for youth 16+ years.

After 5 flexible sessions to cover content and learning, students will obtain the following nationally recognised certificates and skills:

✴️ Session 1 - (1 Day): ⛑️

HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

HLTAID010 - Provide basic life support

HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid

✴️ Session 2 - (2 Days): 🏊⛑️🫁🏊‍♀️

SISSS00133 - Pool lifeguard

SISCAQU019 - Supervise patron safety in aquatic locations.

SISCAQU020 - Perform water rescues.

SISCAQU021 - Perform complex water rescues.

SISCAQU022 - Provide oxygen resuscitation and therapy in an aquatic environment.

✴️ Session 3 - (1 Day): 🫁 🔥🌪️☔️🌊📦

HLTAID015 - Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy.

P00241 - Conduct a home resilience, response and recovery action plan (non-accredited).

✴️ Session 4 (Graduation - 1 Day):
🌴🐠😎🚤👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

HAVEFUN101 - Trip to Airlie Beach for a JetSki tour, a mental fitness, self resilience and leadership session prior to graduating, with issuing of certificates and support letter from our charity partner The Bushfire Foundation Inc.

Students will have the opportunity to learn life long skills, make new friends, and will have the possibility of employment as local lifeguards or nationally when studying university or travelling.

Students may be expected to assist with volunteering locally to support raising funds for The Bushfire Foundation Inc.

Did you know during fire season, Fire Tower's🗼 are often the first ones to spot smoke in the land scape and direct crews with locations to help access and extinguish them before they can't away.
