More SMI plug valves heading into the field.

We’re continuing to see increased adoption of SMI 2” x 2” 15K Lightweight Plug Valves across the Australian market — and there’s a reason operators are making the switch.

In an application where reliability matters, these valves continue to deliver. We’re seeing strong performance in the field, with SMI proving to be a reliable alternative to other plug valves in the market — including products carrying a significantly higher price tag.

But for OBS, supplying the valve is only part of the equation.

As an SMI Authorised Repair Licensed Facility (ARLF), we provide local Australian support throughout the life of the equipment. Our service capability is backed by a significant local inventory of genuine SMI spare parts, allowing us to support inspection, servicing, repair and recertification requirements without relying solely on overseas support.

We’re proud to announce that OBS has been appointed the exclusive distributor for SHENKAI across Australia and New Zealand, strengthening our ability to provide clients with a complete range of critical well control equipment.

Another engineered solution delivered!

OBS was recently engaged to provide a casing clean-up solution for a client operating in Western Australia.

Using the application data and current well conditions provided, our team reviewed the requirements and engineered a specific combination of casing brushes and scrapers to suit the operation — considering casing ID, expected scale and debris, fluid properties and operational parameters.

Rather than simply supplying a tool, our focus was on selecting the right configuration for the application to maximise cleaning efficiency, protect casing integrity and support a reliable run in hole.

An exciting new project for OBS. Supplying a full well-control equipment package to a drilling rig heading to Papua New Guinea.

Our customer won a new contract in PNG and came to us for the critical well-control package BOP's, accumulator unit and all associated pressure control. Where reliability, compliance and knowledge are absolutely essential.

When equipment is heading somewhere remote like PNG, there's no room for guesswork. Everything is thoroughly checked, tested, documented and packed with the end location in mind.

Projects like this show OBS is continuing to grow beyond local equipment supply, building a reputation for supporting specialised well control requirements in demanding locations.
