The Parks and Wildlife Service will carry out a prescribed burn in Jarralya (Giralia) National Park from 4 to 5 June 2026. Smoke may be visible in the park and surrounding areas, including Exmouth and Onslow, while the prescribed burn is underway.
The burn is being carried out to manage bushfire risk and biodiversity, for community protection and as part of a land management program.
What to do:
โข Smoke may reduce visibility on adjacent roads. Motorists should take care, turn on their headlights and travel at appropriate speeds when in smoke-affected areas.
โข Watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions. Please follow all traffic management in the area.
โข People with asthma and pre-existing respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses should follow their pre-prepared treatment plan.
