☀️hot and windy conditions means an increased risk of fires.
🔥 Just a reminder to practice safe burning every time. Check your burns, check the weather and be prepared at all times.
✅ Remember it is important as we head into the Bush Fire Danger period to ensure your property is well prepared. Taking simple steps to prepare your property and animals can make all the difference.

Over the past few days, crews have responded to numerous escaped burns across the state. With elevated fire conditions forecast across the weekend, we are urging residents to take extra care when conducting your burns.

While fire agencies and land managers will be closely monitoring areas where hazard reduction burns have been conducted earlier this week, we are also asking landholders to closely monitor their own burns.

If you are in an area currently within its Bush Fire Danger Period, you must have a permit from your local brigade and notify your neighbours and the RFS at least 24 hours before conducting your burn.

Don’t put your community at risk. For more information on safe burning, visit the website: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/safeburning

Medowie crews were called out overnight to assist with a Motor Vehicle Accident where a car and B-Double fuel tanker has collided. It took rescue crews nearly an hour to free the driver of the car before they were treated by ambulance crews and eventually airlifted to hospital. Fortunately the fuel tanker was empty at the time.

Incredible work by all emergency services in some very difficult conditions.
