Last night we held a training session with Dookie Rural Fire Brigade, CFA Cosgrove & Pine Lodge Fire Brigade and Tallygaroopna Fire Brigade simulating a structure fire and practicing use of Breathing Apparatus. We used our smoke machine to create a very realistic feel in the station!

Thanks to all those who came along, our crew of organisers, and Cara and Al from Mooroopna CFA for their guidance and expertise in the operation of BA and structure fires

Thank you to all in the community for abiding by the restrictions and Total Fire Ban days over the summer, it was a tough summer so your help is greatly appreciated

We are looking forward to celebrating 115 years of service to our local community this coming Sunday 15 March 9am - 11am at the fire shed.

A chance to look back on our past whilst looking to our future.

A number of service awards will also be presented on the morning.

The brigade history book will also be launched and copies available for purchase.

We want to give a big thank you to Tallygaroopna Bowls Club for their very generous $1000 donation to our brigade from their Vic Fire Fundraising Tournament. The funds will be used to buy a Kestrel weather meter

📣CALL FOR FODDER DONATIONS📣

KFNC is helping support livestock affected by the fires, and we’re calling on the community for fodder donations.

📍 Drop-off location:
565 Pine Lodge North Road, Pine Lodge

🐄 Why it’s needed:
Sam currently has over 200 cattle arriving from fire affected farms that urgently need feed. Any surplus fodder will be distributed to other impacted farms to ensure nothing goes to waste.

Hey Katandra! What a hectic few days our brigade has had. We’ve posted a couple of our strike teams when we’ve had pics to share, but there have been several other crews head out day and night on strike teams to Longwood - a huge thanks to each and every one of you. We’ve got a bit of a schedule of members going over the rest of the week, it’s going to take a while yet.

Thanks to our wider community - families & friends keeping the wheels turning at home, our employers releasing us to attend, especially our self-employed members sacrificing their income, various appointments needing to be rescheduled. While it seems like we drop everything to attend these incidents, we can’t do it alone and there’s often “life admin” to sort out. Thanks to everyone who helps our members with this. If any of our members want to mention anyone who’s gone above and beyond - please tag them in the comments 👇
