MEDIA STATEMENT

OceanaGold visits Katanning Following Ausgold Sale Announcement.

Senior representatives of OceanaGold visited Katanning today following the company’s announcement earlier this week that it had entered into an agreement to acquire Ausgold and the Katanning Gold Project.

The visit included a meeting with the Shire of Katanning to discuss the project, the proposed acquisition and OceanaGold’s intentions for the future development of the Katanning Gold Project.

Shire of Katanning President Kristy D’Aprile says, “we were delighted to host OceanaGold’s President and Chief Executive Officer Gerard Bond and Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer David Bickerton.

“OceanaGold owns four operating gold mines and therefore brings a wealth of technical mining experience to the Katanning Gold Project and this experience combined with their sound financial position, materially strengthens the prospect of a mine start-up and a seamless transition from exploration to gold production.”

President D’Aprile says “Mr Bond assured the Shire that OceanaGold had acquired the Katanning Gold Project with the absolute intention of bringing it into production as soon as possible. He also took the time to discuss OceanaGold’s values of care and community, which reassured me that the company will continue the productive local relationships and concern for community impact that have underpinned our relationship with Ausgold to date,” President D’Aprile said.

“Mr Bond explained that two of OceanaGold’s current gold mines, at Waihi in New Zealand and Kershaw in South Carolina, operate on the immediate outskirts of small towns, providing the company with significant experience in managing community relations and maintaining its social licence.”

President D’Aprile says she “came away from today’s meeting feeling that the Katanning Gold Project is in good hands. Ausgold has worked hard to establish positive local relationships and I am confident OceanaGold will build on that foundation as the project progresses,” she concluded.

An Ausgold shareholder vote on the proposed sale to OceanaGold is expected to be held in November 2026.
