To help you get ready for bushfire season, we’ll be collecting green bins every week from Monday 31 August – Friday 25 September.

All residents will get two additional green bin collections during this time.

🚲 Calling Western Sydney designers and artists

Blue Mountains City Council is inviting Expressions of Interest for a creative opportunity in Glenbrook Village.

We’re looking for artists and designers to develop bespoke bike rack concepts for Glenbrook.

The selected designs will be fabricated and installed in the village centre, contributing to a more welcoming, connected and vibrant public space.

African olive is a serious bushland invader that can spread rapidly and crowd out native vegetation.

The Blue Mountains is within an exclusion zone for this species and we’re working hard to reduce its presence. With a sweep planned in parts of the Lower Mountains soon, we’re asking residents to keep watch too.

African olive can look similar to European olive, but its leaves usually have a greener underside rather than a silvery one, with a distinctive small hook at the tip.

📖✨Bring an original poem, a strong voice and your best two-minute performance. You'll join a night packed with creativity, connection and plenty of cheers (and snaps!) from the crowd.

📢⚒ Works will commence this week on the construction of a new amenities building at Katoomba Falls Reserve that will replace the existing building. The new building is closer to the recently re-opened Night Lit Walk and will feature greater capacity and accessibility. The reserve will remain open during the works, with pedestrian and traffic movements managed daily by the contractor. This is part of the precinct upgrade funded by the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grant (WSIG) Program with Council.
