🌿🎉 If you haven't heard the exciting news yet! 🎉🌿

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Enver Erdogan MP and Ben Carroll MP to Horseshoe Bend Community Group to share some fantastic news – our garden will receive $93,000 in funding to support community-led projects, education programs, and activities at our much-loved site. 🌱💚

We were also pleased to have representatives from Brimbank City Council, including our Mayor and proud volunteer, Councillor Virginia Tachos, as well as representatives from Parks Victoria, join us on the day. Thank you all for your ongoing support and commitment to helping our community garden grow and thrive. 💚

This funding is a wonderful recognition of the hard work, dedication, and passion of our volunteers, committee members, and supporters. It will help us continue to create a welcoming space for the community, deliver educational opportunities, and expand activities for people of all ages.

🌿The Maze Garden is coming along nicely! 🌿

At our last Working Bee, we installed most of the corrugated raised garden beds (while still experimenting with the layout), completed some levelling work, filled several beds with soil, and spread mulch around the garden beds.

There's still plenty to do, but we're really happy with the progress so far. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped at the last Working Bee. Your hard work and support are making a real difference, and we truly appreciate the time you give to our community garden. 💚

🌿💪 Working Bee Wrap-Up! 💪🌿

What a fantastic Working Bee last Saturday with a wonderful turnout from the Syriac community! It was great to see so many people coming together and helping around the garden. 🌱🤝

Here’s some of what we got done:

✨ Tidied and cleaned up garden beds
🌱 Prepared areas ready for continued winter planting
🧹 General garden maintenance and clean-up
✅ Put our new Working Bee to-do list system into action — helping keep everyone organised and on track throughout the day

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and effort. The community spirit and teamwork on the day was amazing to see! 🌻💚
