πŸ₯•πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ STEM Chefs was rolling along this week! πŸ§‘β€πŸ³πŸŒΏ

Our students swapped the laboratory for the kitchen as they prepared fresh and delicious rice paper rolls in this week's STEM Chefs enrichment session with Ms Amouzandeh.

STEM Chefs continues to be a fantastic way for students to build food literacy, learn new cooking techniques and discover how science plays a role in the meals we enjoy every day! ✨

πŸ”§πŸ‘ Happy School Officers Day! πŸ‘πŸ”§

Today we're shining a spotlight on one of the many people who helps keep QACI running smoothly behind the scenes, and that's Peter from our Facilities and Maintenance team.

Whether he's setting up for major school events, troubleshooting issues around campus, helping prepare spaces for learning, firing up the BBQ for a community event, or lending a hand wherever it's needed, Peter is always there with a smile and a willingness to help.

The work of our School Officers often happens behind the scenes, but their impact is felt across every corner of our school. Their dedication helps create a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for students, staff and families every day.

Thank you, Peter, for everything you do for the QACI community. We appreciate your hard work, commitment and the many ways you support our school! πŸ’™βœ¨

🌟 A huge congratulations to Year 10 student Tristan on his performance at the Regional Cross Country Championships! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

"I was not that nervous on the day, feeling chill, hungry and annoyed I didn't eat anything, but I run better without food. My race was full, with about 70 people it seemed because of two age groups, but I was still not worried and just wanted to try my best. I started off slow but I do best trying to catch people, and started slowly improving my pace and catching guys. Last lap, I went for a water and completely screwed it up and went everywhere except my mouth. I was pushing hard on the last lap, catching a few people and sprinted to the finish. I did way better then expected and got sub 25 minute for 6 km, which is a PB for me. So I was buzzing, and super happy for Lara who made to states. I'm happy that I did the best I could and I'm ready for next year."

One of the most impressive aspects of Tristan's achievement is the perspective he has taken from the experience. Rather than focusing on the result, he focused on giving his best effort, improving on his previous performances and supporting his fellow competitors. That mindset embodies the spirit of QACI and the values that help our students continue to grow and succeed. πŸ’™

Congratulations Tristan! We are so proud of the way you represented QACI and can't wait to see what next year's season brings! ✨

πŸ§ͺπŸ… Congratulations to our Year 12 Chemistry students who represented QACI at the annual RACI Chemistry Titration Competition held at QUT Gardens Point on Saturday!

Competing against 29 teams from schools across Brisbane, our students put their analytical chemistry skills to the test, performing a series of titrations to determine the unknown mass of potassium hydrogen phthalate (KHP).

A huge congratulations to Emily and Juniper, who achieved High Distinctions with a percentage error of less than 0.4%, and to Julia, who achieved a Distinction with a percentage error of less than 0.8% πŸ‘βœ¨

Well done also to Rachael, Daisy, Jenny, Sophia, Minh and all participating students, who dedicated time to refining their skills through after-school practice sessions and represented QACI with professionalism and enthusiasm throughout the competition. We are incredibly proud of your commitment to scientific inquiry and excellence! πŸ”¬πŸ’™
