🧠 Our Year 11 students have been exploring The Human Sciences in Theory of Knowledge, but this time the learning looked a little different… 🎭

Students took part in an interactive TOK play exploring what is and isn’t considered a Human Science, what different disciplines contribute to this Area of Knowledge, and why studying human behaviour and societies can be so complex.

Taking to the stage were Abby as The Human Sciences, Flo as The Natural Sciences, Lara as Global Politics, Emma as Psychology, Macs as Business Management and Nikk as ESS, with Dr Elwell appearing as the all-important Fairy TOK Mother. 🪄✨ The rest of the Year 11 audience joined in as the chorus!

And naturally, no rigorous exploration of knowledge would be complete without a dance battle between the Natural and Human Sciences. 💃🔬

A wonderfully creative way to make a complex TOK concept memorable, engaging and just the right amount of ridiculous! 💙

💙 Shaping the future of QACI! 🪿

Our Year 10 Student Voice Collective is here to introduce the next chapter of QACI’s Vision, Values and Motto!

Thank you to everyone who voted to help shape our new Vision. It was a close result between:
💡 Globally minded learners shaping our future through creativity, curiosity, and humanity.
🌏 Challenging globally minded learners to question, create and contribute to a better world.

And our community has chosen:

✨ Challenging globally minded learners to question, create and contribute to a better world. ✨

Our new Vision sits alongside our four QACI Values of Curiosity, Agency, Creativity and Inclusivity, as well as our Sense of the Goose philosophy: Accept the challenge. Embrace opportunities. Fly in V formation. 🪿

But there’s one more piece to shape: our QACI Motto!

Students, staff and families have been invited via email to submit a short, memorable and distinctly QACI motto that reflects who we are and where we’re heading.

📅 Motto submissions close Monday 7 September at 3:00pm.

From there, our Student Voice Collective will shortlist the ideas before the finalists go back to the QACI community for a vote.

A huge thank you to our Year 10 Student Voice Collective for helping lead this work, and to our whole community for having your say in QACI’s future. 💙

🌏💙 Celebrating the cultures that make QACI, QACI!

For Multicultural Month, our Cultural Ambassadors invited students to share what they love about their culture, speaking to camera in their cultural languages. 🗣️✨

🏛️ Five of our Year 11 students Tilly, Jake, Holly, Lixi and Abby represented QACI at the inaugural Brisbane Youth Policy Challenge, hosted by Madonna Jarrett MP.

The event brought together young people to explore and present research into issues affecting their schools and wider communities, giving students an opportunity to engage with policy, share their perspectives and contribute their ideas to important conversations.

Congratulations to Tilly, Jake, Holly, Lixi and Abby for representing QACI and getting involved in this fantastic opportunity to amplify youth voice! 👏💙
