🌟Learning, Connecting & Bringing New Ideas Back to Kew! 🌟

Kew Toy Library was pleased to attend the recent Training & Information Day hosted by Toy Libraries Australia and held nearby in Canterbury.

Our Vice President Paxton, Secretary Alexa, Committee Member Betty, and Coordinators Claire and Maggie spent the day learning from presentations and workshops, networking with other passionate toy library volunteers, and sharing ideas and experiences from across the toy library community.

They even came home with some fantastic prizes that will soon find their way into our collection for members to enjoy!

A big thank you to for organising such a valuable and inspiring day. 🧸📚✨

Kew Toy Library held a special morning tea for our wonderful community volunteers and committee members in celebration of National Volunteer Week.

It was a lovely opportunity to acknowledge and thank the many people who support our Toy Library by generously sharing their time, skills, and expertise. Our Toy Library simply wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteers, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do for our community. 💛

Happy National Volunteer Week!

Each year we take a moment to thank all of the volunteers that help keep Kew Toy Library running. From our committee of management to our member volunteers and our amazing team of community volunteers that are so generous with their time helping support each session and do so much wonderful work behind the scenes - we couldn’t do it without you!

This year’s theme is Your Year To Volunteer, if you’ve ever wanted to get more involved and volunteer at the toy library feel welcome to have a chat with our staff on your next visit about all the ways to get involved.

✨ MEMBER REVIEW ✨

This is a must-borrow game if only so you can utter the words, “I hit your eyes with glaucoma, which I will then metastasise to your kidneys!” Then your opponent can say, “Well in that case, I’ll play Contagious and reflect that glaucoma back to you and hit your teeth!” There is no great strategy to this game - simply play afflictions onto your opponent’s organs and try to get rid of them before all of your organs are gone. Fluent reading ability is required. The charm lies in the funny text, cute illustrations and learning about diseases you may never have heard of. Oh, and the ability to say, “I’m going to transplant your appendix into me.”
