Kiama Blowhole Point rockpool has been closed for scheduled cleaning.

The pool is expected to re-open on the morning of 9 September.

The Jamberoo Heritage Review is now on public exhibition, with proposed updates designed to preserve and protect places and items of local heritage significance for future generations.

Residents, property owners and community members are encouraged to review the proposal and share their feedback via the NSW Planning Portal by 20 September 2026.

Sunshine, smiles and second-hand treasures!

Our Second Hand Saturday event was a huge success, with perfect weather and an amazing turnout from the community. From bargain hunters to stallholders, it was wonderful to see people connecting, sharing stories and giving pre-loved items a new home.

Upcoming Jamberoo Mountain Road closures

Dates: From Monday 15 June 2026
Times: 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday
Duration: Approximately nine weeks.

Kiama Council will be closing Jamberoo Mountain Road to traffic from Monday 15 June for 9 weeks to improve safety near the Barren Grounds entrance by widening the road. Both the width of the embankment and storm water pipe under the road at this location will be lengthened.

Closure location
Jamberoo Mountain Road (Jamberoo Mountain Road Pass) will be closed between Misty Lane and Knights Hill during work hours.

The works are being completed by a contractor under the Betterment Grant, supported by the Australian and NSW governments.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead, use alternative routes where possible and allow extra travel time.

Kiama Council thanks the community for their patience and cooperation while these important safety works are carried out.

⚠️ Storm Bay safety notice

Council is aware of rubbish and discarded sharps in the Storm Bay area.

For your safety, please avoid contact with any waste found in the area and keep clear of affected sections while cleanup works are underway.

Due to the challenging location, crews will be working over the coming days to safely remove and dispose of the materials.
