The event involves a series of challenging scenarios and teams from emergency services across the state. While it is a competition, it's also designed as a learning opportunity to continue to develop skills which can be used on the job back in Kiama.

We'll share more on the results over the coming days.

🐄 Cow rescued from Gerringong mud 🐄

Hidden in a muddy spring on a rural Gerringong property, Elle the 500kg Angus cow was firmly stuck.

Volunteers from Kiama Unit attended the farm on Sunday and spent more than two hours rescuing her from the mud. One of our members, Alex, waded into the muddy spring to attach a sling and use a mud lance to free Elle’s legs, before she was carefully pulled out of the bog.

We’re hoping Elle makes a full recovery. Thanks to the Gerringong Rural Fire Brigade for their assistance with Elle's rescue.
