Looking for a good podcast? (We assume you've already binged Good Librations!) We loved History or Hoarding with Annabel Crabb - available on ABC Listen (click the link) or wherever you find your podcasts.
📚Above ground, the State Library of NSW is all books. But below? There are letters, maps, old restaurant menus, military antiques, coin collections, stamps, walking sticks, an upsetting amount of HUMAN HAIR and — most importantly — some incredible stories that capture our history in unique ways. Join Annabel Crabb as she dives into the secret stacks and collections of Australia's oldest library uncovering strange, forgotten and fascinating national treasures.

Annabel Crabb — who personally struggles to declutter, just ask her husband — visits Australia's oldest library and immediately feels better about her own habits.

At the library we love a good story, and this one from the Socceroos caught our attention. The journey behind the jersey - a video message from the Socceroos on immigration, diversity and how the team is a reflection of modern Australia. Well done to the Socceros on their win yesterday!

The Socceroos have spoken of their pride in their heritage and playing for the national team, as they prepare for the World Cup

We received another wonderful donation to our local history collection recently - this photograph of the old Kiama Drill Hall, taken in 1974. The hall was located in Morton Lane, Kiama, behind Manning Street. For a time, the Library was housed there - from June 1974 until 1981. The hall was demolished in 1981 to make way for the current Council Administration Building.

Never dreamed of spontaneously taking off to a far-flung location during monsoon with your dad? Neither had Susan Reoch ... yet that's exactly what she did, and it turned out to be the trip of a lifetime. Thank you so much, Susan, for taking us on a vicarious journey to Nepal from the comfort of Kiama Library, and for sharing the story of the trip you never dreamed of. The best kinds of adventures are the ones you least expect.
