Then come along to a workshop facilitated by the Tangaroa Blue Foundation, an Australian registered charity focused on the health of our marine environment.

This is your opportunity to participate in this community driven initiative whereby data collected from monthly beach litter clean ups conducted over the past 12 months will be used to assist with developing a litter campaign specific to your area.

Everyone is welcome!

they are in the top 10 most found litter items. Every straw used will far out live the individual who drank from it, whether it is littered in the environment or disposed of in landfill. Do your bit - . Paper alternatives are good but reusable straws are great! They come in all shapes and sizes and are made from materials such as bamboo, stainless steel, glass and silicone. Our favourite is the stainless steel strawspoon! Have you made the switch?

Whether it is flushed down the toilet, poured down the sink or thrown out in the trash. Unwanted, unused or expired medication will find its way into the environment and poses a serious threat to our ecosystems. When clearing out your medicine cabinet collect all your unwanted or expired medication and return to your local pharmacy.

According to the RUM Project, more than 500 TONNES OF MEDICINE find their way into WATERWAYS and LANDFILL every year.

The Return Unwanted Medicines (RUM) project is a government funded project to reduce the disposal of unwanted and out-of-date medicines in the general waste or in the sewerage. It also aims to reduce unwanted medicines in the household which have the potential to cause harm if used incorrectly.

Consumers are being encouraged to keep in mind the potential harm to the environment from incorrectly disposing of medications and to return their unwanted or out-of-date medication to Pharmacy 194 for appropriate disposal!
