Book Fair was a buzzing place this afternoon. It was wonderful watching parents engage in discussion about the merits of different books. Book Fair closes on Thursday 27th August after school. It is great to see that Kilcoy SS: BOOKS ARE COOL!

Mr Matt from Raw Art visited the Prep, Prep/1 and 1A classrooms today. We made either the sweetest buzzing bees or the cutest little possums. We can't wait to see the writing that is inspired by this rich experience.

It is Book Week this week. The theme this year is: A Symphony of Stories. In Prep/1 this morning the students engaged in a book tasting. Their teacher read a beautiful message to the students about how valuable they all are to the class as they all bring their own flavour. This was followed by listening to a selection of stories and reflecting on how those stories made them think and feel. Everyone was excited to see their classroom beautifully decorated.

On 27-8-26 (next Thursday), people from the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Services are visiting and hosting a Yarning Table in our school, held in the hall, right after our Book Week character parade at about 11am.

Our students laughed, giggled and listened to Paul from the NED Show talk to us about the importance of resilience. N- Never give up, E- Encourage others, D- Do your best. We are grateful for this visit as the message is so important!

It's that time of the year again! Dress up as your favourite book character and parade around to show off your costume 🥸

These two students were spied working with Mrs Burton on preparing to present their persuasive speeches. The best part about that was that while they were doing that, they spied Miss Carlile and could not wait to proudly show their work. It was very impressive. It is always exciting to witness students who are proud of themselves and their learning. Go James and Ollie!
