This term, our Year 11/12 Furnishing Skills (FSK) students have been tasked with manufacturing a bedside cabinet as part of their assessment.

Using a diverse range of tools and processes, students will construct their own cabinet by interpreting manufacturer drawings and information that detail the expected quality standards of the final product (e.g size, type and grade of sheet materials, tolerances, fits, finish and joints). Students will document their manufacturing process using annotated photos, sketches, video and/or written explanation.

Time to start packing, labelling and organising everything ready for Wednesday 3 June. Staff and students will travel to Marantha Recreation Camp for an exciting 3-day camp full of activities and fun! Don’t forget to arrive at school by 8:45am for the bus to depart Kilcoy State High School at 9am.

On Monday 25 May, our 2026 Junior Leaders visited Kilcoy State School as part of our High School Transition Program.

Throughout the session, our leaders ran a series of leadership activities with Year 6 students. These opportunities are so important in building strong connections between our schools, helping students feel excited and confident about their transition to high school. It was great getting to know the potential future Year 7 students for 2027 and we cannot wait to welcome them into our school community at our High School Experience Day on Monday 22 June!

A special thank you to our incredible Junior Leaders, Phoebe, Alexa, Charlee, Mhikaela, Sheridan and Lilli, who planned and ran such engaging and creative activities. You represented our school with pride, positivity and leadership and are proud of the way you supported and connected with students.

📣 Our annual 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 is coming up on Monday 22 June (Week 10)!

Students going into Year 7 in 2027 can join us for a full day high school experience at Kilcoy SHS. On the day, students are able to order tuckshop or purchase delicious treats from the window during lunch breaks.
