🚒Come down to our Community stall this Saturday morning (till about 10.30/11am) to have a chat with your local Firies outside Billie’s Food & Wine Store. 🚒
🍅There will be our famous Firefighter relish and locally made marmalades and jams (thanks to some of our amazing locals), honey, a raffle and baked goods for sale. 🍅
🍰 Community donations of baked goods are always very much appreciated. Thanks in advance! 🍰

❤️ The Killcare Firies had a great day down at Killcare Beach today helping at the National Tree Day event. We had an amazing day chatting with everyone about bushfire preparedness as well as planting and watering plants to help protect our local coastal environment. ❤️

Killcare Rural Fire Brigade will once again be at Killcare Beach next Sunday (26th July) to support National Tree Day.

We will also have our team available to chat through preparation and planning activities you can consider now to prepare for the upcoming 2026 Bushfire season

Tonight we held our AGM where we celebrated our members and elected our 26/27 position holders!

Long Service Steins were given to:
- Warwick (50 years)
- John (10 years)
- Lucy (10 years)
- Lyn (10 years)
- Craig (5 years)
- Matt (5 years)

The Member of the Year award was given to Mike.

Flood Citations were also given out.

26/27 field officer positions include-
- Captain - Michelle
- SDC - Allan
- DC - Warwick, John, Craig, Lucy and Justin

Executive -
President - Warwick
Vice President - Terry
Secretary - Lucy
Treasurer - Mike

Phones, laptops, e-bike batteries - they all generate heat while
charging.

Charging on a bed, doona or pillow, traps that heat against
fabric.

Lithium-ion fires can start fast.

Charge on a hard, flat surface.

Keep batteries off bedding.

Heaters need space. A lot of it.

Keep curtains, bedding, lounges, throws and drying racks at
least one metre away.

Switch them off before you leave the room or go to bed. Never
use outdoor heaters indoors.

Fires in the kitchen are the leading cause of house fires in
NSW.
The cause is almost always the same. Unattended
cooking.

If you have to leave the kitchen, turn the stove off. A hot pan
only needs a minute.

Cold dinner beats a house fire.
