☀️🚒 SUNSHINE, SMILES & SOME SERIOUS RESCUE SKILLS! 🧡💪

What a fantastic Sunday at the Lancefield Agricultural Show! 🎡🌭🎉

Our SES Kilmore crew teamed up with our friends from SES Woodend and LMRU for a brilliant day of community engagement, plenty of laughs and a whole lot of sunshine! ☀️😎

🗣️ We talked!
🚶 We walked!
👋 We met some amazing people!
🚗💥 And we even showed off our rescue skills!

There was plenty to see and do, with lots of activities, information and opportunities for the community to get up close and learn more about what we do. 🧡

One of the highlights was our Road Crash Rescue (RCR) demonstration, where our crews put their skills into action and gave the crowd a glimpse of what goes into responding to a road rescue. 🚒🛠️💪

👏 A massive THANK YOU to the Lancefield Agricultural Show organisers for having us along and putting on such a fantastic event!

🤝 A big shout-out to our neighbouring units, SES Woodend Unit and LMRU, for joining us. It’s always a great day when we get to work together!

And of course, thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, asked questions, watched our demo or simply gave us a wave! 👋🧡

☀️ Great weather!
😄 Great people!
🚒 Great teamwork!
🧡 One fantastic day!

Until next time, Lancefield! 👋🎉

🚨 Safety Reminder for Drivers

When you see any flashing lights, including our red and blues, on the roadside, please slow down safely to 40 km/h as you pass.

🚘 Slowing down isn’t just good manners, it’s the law and it helps keep our emergency services safe while they’re working on or near the road.

👉 Why It Matters?
Our SES volunteers are often attending calls on our roads and perform their tasks outside of our vehicles. Passing traffic at high speed puts them at serious risk. We all deserve to get home safely, so when you see us, slow down. 🙏

So please slow to 40 km/h when passing emergency vehicles with flashing lights, and only return to the normal speed once you’re safely past the scene. 🚗

💨🌳 This afternoon, our volunteers were out assisting the community after a tree came down across a road in Bylands. Using our chainsaws, crews quickly cleared the hazard and restored safe access for motorists. 🚧

A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers who continue to answer the call, day and night, to help keep our community safe. 🧡

If you need SES assistance for fallen trees, flooding, or storm damage, call 132 500. For life-threatening emergencies, always call 000. ☎️

🧡 A huge thank you to Marcus and the crew from Reece in Kilmore! 🧡

We’re incredibly grateful for the generous donation of two Milwaukee Stick Pumps to our unit. 🙌

These will become another valuable tool in our repertoire and will be put to good use when responding to incidents across our community. 🚨💪

Support from local businesses like Reece Kilmore makes a real difference. Their generosity helps us have the right equipment ready to go, so we can continue helping our community when they need us most.

👏 Thank you Marcus and the entire Reece Kilmore team for supporting your local SES volunteers!

Did you feel that. We did here at SES Kilmore Unit.

We felt it too 👀 If you felt the earthquake, stay calm, check for hazards, and be prepared for possible aftershocks.

If you feel an earthquake, remember: Drop, Cover, Hold On. Stay where you are until the shaking stops.

For assistance with damage, contact VICSES on 132 500. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
