Mayor Otto says - There’s more work to be done to get Council out of deficit and that is what I intend to do. Yet there is a $4.6 m deficit this year. Then it's all about study, review, review, review... & how much does that cost the ratepayer?

• a study into rating categories to create improved equity in Council rates
• a review of asset management plans as to priorities for buildings and parks and gardens
• a review of Council’s motor vehicle fleet, and
• further roads and building assets valuation reviews.

Isn't it amazing that this Council and the Minister for Potholes happily babbles on about all the road work being done each meeting. We all obviously see that there has been absolutely no improvement in conditions within the Shire, in fact they have gotten worse.
With all the bonus rate money they have received, Deputy Desiree is claiming 'less complaints', 'roads are great' & how much of a great job he is doing with 'Councils money' (OUR MONEY ACTUALLY !!)
We can advise you - The roads are crap!

However, a lot of this work is being done with Federal or State Govt Funding (still our money though) while The Dud is taking all credit for it.

This current bit done with Roads To Recovery Funding out of the extra $2.466 Million SBRC received...........................................

Mayor Brett Otto & Former Mayor Keith Campbell, discuss the KTP stating $4.5million is funded by federal Government, Council borrowed $2million and Mayor Otto claims Council is tipping in $9.4million with the pool of funds in the bank account set aside for this project deemed as restricted cash.

Where did Council borrow the $2million from and what interest rate are ratepayers paying on this. What are the payments? Why are we still in debt $39 million and now have a $4.6 million deficit?

South Burnett Mayor Brett Otto is seeking more information about the extra $2.8 million added to the Kingaroy Transformation Project’s budget late last year.

The decision, made at November’s General Meeting on a 4-3 vote, increased the project’s cost from $11.1 to $13.9 million.
