Sadly, 175 Victoria Police members have died in the line of duty. Of these, 30 have been murdered, which underlines the dangers police members face on a daily basis. We can do nothing to bring them back but as a grateful community we can take steps to honour their memory and ensure their sacrifice is acknowledged through a range of projects that benefit the wider community.

Today we remember Detective Senior Constable Edward Hubbard - 22 June 1999.
DSC Hubbard was 28 years when he tragically died in a training incident while on duty. He had served with Victoria Police for nine years.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends and Victoria Police colleagues.
His service to our community will always be remembered 💙

Today we remember Senior Constable Lindsay Forsythe who died 22 June 1983. He was just 33 years of age with two young children. 💙
Our thoughts today are with his family, friends and Victoria Police colleagues.
Lindsay had a 15 year career with Victoria Police, he had been stationed in the city, Latrobe Valley and in 1979 he took on the role in a one person station at Maldon.
In 2019, he was posthumously awarded the Victoria Police Valour, the award was presented to his children at Maldon police station where he served.
Lindsay will always be remembered.

Remembering, these Victoria Police who lost their lives serving and protecting our community. Sadly, all three died in vehicle accidents, Constable Maggs on a motorcycle, Constable McFarlane in a car and Sergeant Fawssett in a stagecoach accident.
💙 Constable Owen Maggs – 9 June 1928, 27 years
💙 Constable Andrew McFarlane – 9 June 1991, 24 years
💙 Sergeant Leonard Fawssett – 12 June 1880, 57 years.
They will always be remembered.

Thank you to all the Blue Ribbon supporters who donated to our Blue Ribbon Cup campagin last week. It's not too late to donate, we are just a few thousand dollars short of our $50,000 target.

The mighty Hawks walked away with the win in the game that honours Sergeant Gary Silk and Senior Constable Rodney Miller.
Chief Commissioner Mike Bush presented the cup while Rodney Miller's son Jimmy presented the football pre-game.
