ENHANCED LIBRARY USE

Today our NSW Area Manager, Erick [left] and Marketing Manager, Dean [right], shared insights into the long-term benefits of investing in sustainable library furniture during the Sydney Catholic Schools network meeting.

Beyond selecting quality products, we discussed how thoughtful furniture choices can support flexible learning, adapt to changing needs, and help schools make smart, future-focused decisions that deliver value for years to come.

We also explored practical design strategies for creating engaging, adaptable library spaces that inspire students and support a wide range of learning activities.

Designing a new library? Here's something worth considering...

We often visit libraries where beautiful fixed joinery has been built along the walls. While these installations can create a striking architectural feature, librarians frequently tell us they come with a few unexpected limitations over time.

Common challenges include:
▪️ Shelves that are too deep for efficient book display
▪️ Fixed shelf heights that can't adapt to changing collections
▪️ Limited ability to create face-out displays or themed promotions
▪️ Shelving that extends too high, making books difficult for younger (or shorter!) visitors to reach
