High fire danger rating for Friday 17 April 2026 ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Weโ€™ve received a high fire danger forecast for tomorrow.

๐Ÿšซ All Permits to Burn are suspended ๐Ÿšซ

We know the weather forecast looks cool and wet, but with high winds and the cool change scheduled to come through late, itโ€™s still a high-risk day.

Please do the right thing to help keep us all safe ๐Ÿ™

Please be advised that the Shire of Augusta Margaret River will extend the Prohibited Burning Period for the whole of the Shire of Margaret River Augusta district as per Section 17(7) of the Bush Fires Act 1954 (as amended), due to seasonal conditions.

The Prohibited Burning Period will now apply until MIDNIGHT on SATURDAY, 28 MARCH 2026.

This decision will be reviewed at that date having regard for the seasonal conditions applicable at that time.

Thank you to everyone who supports us โค๏ธ

Your support means more to our firies than you realise ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ”ฅ

Today, on Thank a Firey Day, show some love to the legends who run towards danger to keep our loved ones safe ๐Ÿ’™

In the past year alone, our career and volunteer firefighters have responded to over 5,700 bushfires, 3,300 road crash rescues, 1,400 structure fires and countless other emergencies across the State, but the numbers donโ€™t tell the full story.

Behind every call-out are hundreds of hours of training, missed family moments and relentless sacrifices, the early starts and quiet acts that often go unseen, like comforting someone on their worst day, teaching kids about fire safety, helping families whoโ€™ve lost everything or checking in on a mate doing it tough.

It takes courage, dedication and heart to do this job. Itโ€™s a tough gig and they do it to protect their community โ€“ time and time again.
