📚🩵 BUDDY READING FUN! 🩵📚

Our Year 6 and Kindergarten students recently shared a very special reading session with their buddies.

It was wonderful to see our senior students reading so patiently and enthusiastically, while our youngest learners listened, joined in and enjoyed spending time with their big buddies. The smiles, conversations and shared love of books made it a truly heartwarming experience! 🌟

A special thank you to Mrs Flanagan for leading this lovely initiative and creating another meaningful opportunity for our students to learn and connect across the school.

We are super proud of the kindness, care and enthusiasm shown by all our students! 👏 🥰

☀️🏀⚽ JERSEY DAY FUN! 🏉🏏☀️

Our school was filled with colour and team spirit as students proudly wore the jerseys of their favourite sporting teams!

It was a wonderful day spent playing, laughing and enjoying the beautiful spring sunshine with friends. Everyone embraced the fun and brought plenty of energy and enthusiasm to the playground! 🌸🙌

🎉 FATHER’S DAY GAMESTERNOON! 🎉

What an incredible afternoon! With more than 200 people joining us, this year’s Father’s Day Gamesternoon was our biggest and best yet!

We LOVE seeing our dads and grandads come together with their children to enjoy a special afternoon filled with fun, laughter, games and, of course, the world’s best sausage sizzle! 🌭

Everyone embraced the spirit of the afternoon and got stuck into skipping, tennis, chess, handball, soccer, obstacle courses, volleyball and our absolute favourite activity of all… TUG OF WAR! 🪢💪

A HUGE thank you to our wonderful staff for giving their time and enthusiastically assisting with this special event. Your support helped bring our community together in the funnest way possible! 🩵

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so memorable. Seeing our school community having so much fun together was truly special.

🏃‍♂️🏆 NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY SUCCESS 🏆🏃‍♂️

Levi proudly represented NSW as a member of the U13 Boys team at the National Cross Country Championships in Ballarat.

This was his first experience competing at a national level and despite feeling unwell, Levi was determined to race—and took on the challenging three-kilometre course in exceptionally cold, wet and muddy conditions.

Showing tremendous courage and perseverance, Levi attacked the course with determination and finished 60th overall against the best young runners from across Australia. While the difficult conditions prevented him from achieving his usual personal-best time, simply reaching the National Championships and completing the race was an outstanding accomplishment.

Adding to this incredible experience, the NSW U13 Boys team finished first and were crowned National Champions! 🥇💙

Levi has reflected positively on the experience and is already determined to learn from it, setting himself the goal of returning to compete at the National Championships in 2027.

We are incredibly proud of Levi’s resilience, commitment and remarkable achievement. Congratulations, Levi—what an inspirational effort! 🌟

⚽🏆 FUTSAL STATE FINALS! 🏆⚽

What an incredible achievement for our Stage 2 girls’ futsal team!

Competing against some of the strongest teams in the state, the girls played beautifully and demonstrated outstanding skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day. They finished an impressive second in their pool before their remarkable campaign came to an end in the quarter-final. 🌟 🌟 🌟

We are incredibly proud of these talented girls and all they have achieved. Reaching the State Finals is a tremendous accomplishment, and they have represented Kurrajong Public School with pride at every stage of the competition. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

A special thank you to Mrs Vella for her ongoing commitment to the team and to Miss Watkins for assisting and supporting the girls today. Your time, encouragement and dedication are greatly appreciated. 🥰

🏃‍♀️ 🏅 ZONE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL! 🏃‍♂️ 🏅

What a fantastic day for our Kurrajong athletics team!

Our students were outstanding in their efforts, giving their very best in every event. As always, they encouraged and supported one another with incredible team spirit—it was easy to hear the Kurrajong kids cheering from across the track! 🩵📣 🥰

We are incredibly proud of the determination, sportsmanship and enthusiasm shown by every member of our team.

A special thank you to Mrs Tonkin and Mrs Collier for managing the team and ensuring everyone made it to their events on time.

Thank you to our parents and carers for arranging travel to and from the carnival, and to those who were able to stay and enthusiastically cheer on our athletes throughout the day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

An extra special thank you to Austin who, without hesitation, took such care and initiative to ensure our section of the grandstand was left super clean. 👏🏼 🌟 👏🏼 🌟

🏆 DEBATING SUCCESS!🏆

Our outstanding Year 6 debating team has won its first debate of the Regional Finals against Gulungara Public School!

With the Regional Finals operating as sudden-death rounds, every debate counts, and our students certainly rose to the challenge.

The topic was:

“That primary school students should hold a series of concerts where every Year 6 student has to perform an artistic dance, song or speech in front of the rest of the school.”

Our team argued the negative case with confidence, clarity and skill.

Competing against the best of the best, this victory is a wonderful testament to the preparation, effort, determination and teamwork of every member of this sensational team. We are incredibly proud of how brilliantly they have represented our school! 👏🌟

A special thank you to Miss Rush for her ongoing support, encouragement and guidance throughout the competition. Her dedication to our debating team is greatly appreciated.

🌏 💡 ROTARY’S PITCH for PURPOSE 💡 🌏

Our Year 6 Blue Whales class had a magnificent day unlocking their creative thinking and exploring the design process under the expert guidance of Ed and Jeremy from Rotary.

After beginning with the challenge of redesigning a school bag, each group developed its own high-impact solution to an environmental concern. Their exceptional ideas included supporting bushfire relief, improving air quality in urban areas and reducing plastic wrappers on food products—just to name a few!

In only one day, our students:

🔹 Developed innovative ideas
🔹 Followed the design process
🔹 Researched their chosen issues
🔹 Created models of their solutions
🔹 Prepared presentations and speeches
🔹 Confidently pitched their ideas to their peers

What an incredible effort—all in the name of problem-solving, creativity and critical thinking!

We are SO PROUD of our Year 6 students for embracing this challenge with such positivity and enthusiasm. Thank you to Ed, Jeremy and Rotary for providing this inspiring learning opportunity! 👏

🎉 PYJAMA DAY FUN! 🎉

What a fun-filled day hosted by our wonderful school leaders!

Pyjama Day was a huge success, with plenty of cosy outfits, laughter and excitement throughout the school. We enjoyed the best hot chocolates topped with marshmallows and had a fantastic time taking part in the marshmallow guessing competition! ☕🍬
