PBL Focus: Own Your Behaviour with Integrity

Our PBL focus for this fortnight is Be Respectful – Own Your Behaviour with Integrity.

At Laidley High, integrity means taking responsibility for our actions, being honest and making positive choices, even when no one is watching. Owning our behaviour means accepting accountability for our decisions, learning from our mistakes and treating others with fairness and respect.

By demonstrating integrity, we help create a positive school culture where everyone feels valued, supported and safe.

Instrumental Fanfare Success!

Congratulations to our talented student musicians who recently represented Laidley High at the Creative Generations Instrumental Fanfare competition!

We are proud to announce that our Concert Band achieved a Silver Award, while our Stage Band also received a Silver Award for their outstanding performances.

Well done to all students and staff involved, especially Mrs Logan, for your hard work, dedication and outstanding musicianship. Your efforts have made our school incredibly proud! 🩵🩶

All In for National Reconciliation Week 2026

This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, All In, reminds us that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility and that meaningful change happens when we all work together.

Our staff and students have been busy making and handing out bracelets throughout the week as a symbol of connection, respect and unity. ❤️💛🖤💙💚🤍

All In is a call for all Australians to step away from the sidelines and commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day.

Because reconciliation will not happen by itself - it takes all of us.

QUT VAN Visits Laidley High!

Our students recently enjoyed an exciting hands-on experience with the QUT VAN team!

Activities included Sport Analytics challenges using timing gates, jumping tests and reaction pods, along with virtual bike and rowing activities.

Our Senior PE students also took part in a specialised session using high-tech motion recording equipment to analyse movement and performance.

Thank you to QUT for providing such an engaging learning experience for our students!

Congratulations to Austin, who represented Metropolitan West at the State Netball Championships on the Gold Coast last week in the 13-15 Years Boys Netball Tournament!

Austin played with heart, determination and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the competition, making our school incredibly proud. Well done on this fantastic achievement, Austin!

Under 8’s Day at Laidley District State School

Last Thursday, our Senior Early Childhood Studies students had a wonderful time at Under 8’s Day at Laidley District State School, where they planned and delivered a range of engaging play-based learning activities.

The activities focused on supporting social and emotional development, while also promoting physical wellbeing through fun and interactive experiences.

Well done to our students for showcasing their creativity, teamwork and leadership throughout the morning!
