LARGER FIRE TRUCK NOW IN CONJOLA
This week, Conjola Rural Fire Brigade received a larger replacement fire truck. Our current category 2 fire truck, which has served our community since 2005, has been replaced with a category 1 fire truck. It is a few years older but it does have better pumping capacity and carries 3500 litres compared to 2000 litres on the previous category 2. This fire truck will hopefully only be with us for a short time until we receive a much more modern truck.
Some of our firefighters are undertaking additional training in preparation for breathing apparatus which will be fitted to this truck. This will give us greater capability at structure fires, car fires and incidents that require respiratory protection for our firefighters. Most importantly, it will increase our capacity to protect you and your homes.
You should be incredibly proud of the effort of our volunteers in spending countless hours of their personal time to gain additional qualifications to better enable them to keep you all safe. A First Aid course today brought us all together to refresh our skills in CPR, using the AED and much more.
If you see us responding to the many and varied incidents that we attend, or if we are training, give us a wave. We always appreciate acknowledgement from our community.
