What a wonderful milestone!

This week we held our very first All Abilities Cafe - A welcoming space to connect, make friends, enjoy activities and learn new skills — including getting hands-on with the coffee machine!

We loved seeing confidence grow, new friendships form and everyone enjoying being part of the community.

Meet Chris 👋

Chris is part of the Macquarie Care Management team, bringing years of experience from the NSW corrections system, where he supported people in both custodial and community settings.

His experience taught him the importance of compassion, dignity and genuine care - especially when people are at their most vulnerable.

Now, Chris is bringing that same heart for people into the community, helping individuals navigate challenges and connect with the support they need.

We’re so grateful to have Chris as part of the Macquarie Care team.

A Birthday Worth Celebrating!

Today we celebrate Daphne’s 95th birthday — and the incredible legacy she is helping create.

Daphne generously donated the land for Daphne’s House, a future housing initiative providing a safe haven for older women at risk of homelessness.

Planning is underway for seven supportive units, offering vulnerable women something every person deserves: safety, dignity and hope.

The third hub of Macquarie Care is WELLBEING.

This hub is about creating spaces where people can feel connected, supported, valued and cared for. Through Playgroup, Chaplains, Seniors Cafe, Celebrate Recovery, and All Abilities Cafe, we create opportunities for people of all ages and stages of life to find community and support.

From little ones and their parents at Playgroup, to seniors enjoying friendship and connection at Seniors Cafe, our Chaplains providing a caring presence in schools, hospitals, nursing homes and workplaces, Celebrate Recovery supporting people through life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups, and All Abilities Cafe creating an inclusive space for people with disability — each program has the same heart: people matter.

Because wellbeing is more than just getting through the day.

It’s having people around you. It’s feeling like you belong. It’s knowing you’re seen, heard and supported.

Through WELLBEING, we want to create communities where people can flourish, build meaningful connections and discover hope for the journey ahead.

The second hub of Macquarie Care is FOOD.

This is where all things food and practical goods are found. It includes our Manna House, School Breakfast Club, Hampers, and a range of other material support that helps meet everyday needs.

We aim to come alongside individuals and families who are feeling the pressure of the rising cost of living. Our focus is to provide access to nourishing food and essential items for those in need, while also reminding them that God has a purpose for their lives and a future filled with hope has been prepared for them.

The first hub of Macquarie Care is SHELTER.

This is where our Car2Home Project and Daphne’s House sit.

We walk closely alongside people who are in urgent need of safety and stability. Our focus begins with finding immediate, temporary shelter, and then working together toward secure, long-term housing.

But it doesn’t stop there.

We support each person’s journey out of turbulence and uncertainty, helping them build strength, stability, and confidence as they move toward a future filled with hope and possibility.
