Last week our crews conducted a first aid/assist ambulance exercise involving a 'worker ' who had sustained a pe*******on to the leg, resulting in an arterial bleed. Crews were required to provide first aid, advanced resuscitation and cardiac defibrillation when the worker deteriorated. Once the patient was stable, crews packaged the patient onto a spine board and completed the rescue. Just another example of how we train to assist our community. Warning, photos contain images of FAKE blood.

When a property is set for demolition, why not use it to sharpen lifesaving skills?

That’s exactly what local fire brigades will be doing this Saturday, teaming up for a rare, realistic training on a real home. From breathing apparatus use to forcible entry and urban fire suppression, this session will strengthen the skills that keep our communities safe. 🔥No fire will be used at the training. It will all be artificial smoke generation.🔥

Fire vehicles will be on site on Port Sorell Main Road this Saturday (16 Aug) morning, so don't be alarmed but please keep on driving past to enable them to best gain from the experience without having to manage non-participants.👨‍🚒
