The Rowing Squad battled wild conditions at Lake Barrington for a powerful weekend of learning and growth - guided by Tasmania JackJumpers Head Coach Scott Roth and his message of winning in the dark, owning your work ethic, and “being the buffalo” when things get tough.

TIS Rower, Olivia Yeates reflected on how Scott’s lessons around culture, discipline and attitude showed up across the camp, especially as the squad pushed through the wind to get better every session.

"The work you do when no one is watching ultimately contributes to performance when it matters."

A new chapter for Para sport in Australia.

With six years to go until Brisbane 2032, the Para Futures Cup has been created to give emerging Para athletes the opportunity to compete on a national stage and take the next step on their high-performance journey.

Athletes from across the country will join forces in four state and territory teams, creating a unique national competition designed to support the next generation of Australian Paralympians.

“The win in the team pursuit was one of the best experiences I’ve had in my career. Of course winning is always special but actually standing on the podium with teammates is such a rare opportunity in cycling so to have this moment was incredibly special.

I had the goal to come away with at least one gold medal from the Commonwealth Games but actually putting it in practice is something entirely different. I remember idolising Australian athletes winning at Comm Games as a kid and I hope even one girl has seen something from our team that might inspire them to try sport. The first win at a major Games is obviously a major step in any career, so it is a moment I will remember forever."
