Yesterday, members of 62 ACU supported the community of Beaconsfield in their ANZAC Dawn and Day Services with a Catafalque Party for their Cenotaph.

It is both an honour and a privilage for our members to participate in the Beaconsfield services.

Lest we forget.

And that’s where we sign off for — Rotation 1.

It’s been an incredible week, and we couldn’t be prouder of every cadet who pushed through the challenge to earn the Golden Boomerang.

Before we go, a special shout-out to the cadet public affairs team, who captured most of the photos and videos you’ve seen over the past few days and helped tell the story of this rotation:

CUO Tilly Carey
CDTSGT Summer Olesen-Warltier
CDTCPL Lachie Viney
CDTLCPL Rory Kingston

We also extend our thanks to the many staff members who stepped in to capture photos and footage when the PA team were tasked elsewhere — your contributions helped complete the picture.

Great job filling the frame and telling the story.

Now — over to Rotation 2.

Team Tassie has officially arrived in Canberra, ready to represent our state at the National RSM-A 2026 Drill Competition 🇦🇺

This team is made up of cadets selected from across Tasmania each chosen for their dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence. Bringing together talent from units statewide, they now stand as one team, proudly representing Tasmania on the national stage.

Over the coming days, they’ll be put through their paces across a range of highly skilled and demanding events, including:
• Precision section based drill
• Catafalque duties, showcasing respect, composure, and ceremonial excellence
• Individually assessed Pace Stick drill (RSM)
• Individually assessed Sword drill (RCUO)

This competition is not just about drill. It's about leadership, teamwork, and representing their state with pride and professionalism.

We wish Team Tassie the very best as they step onto the parade ground in Canberra. Stand tall, stay sharp, and give it everything.

Cadets in the Community

Tonight the unit had the privilege to display our skills at the Easter Family Night at Bunnings 🐇. Our Drone Pilots shared their knowledge with the community and some members had the opportunity to operate the Velocidrone simulators.

If you think this seems like something you would be interested in, we are always recruiting. Just come into Paterson Barracks this Wednesday night.
