Happy International Day of Play!

This year's theme - "Protect Play, Protect Childhood" - is a reminder for all of us that happy, healthy childhoods are built on play. Play is how kids learn, develop confidence, build social skills and grow their resilience. It's not a break from the important stuff; it is the important stuff!

Playing outside has even more benefits. It inspires active movement and connects children and families to nature and their community, which are essential for physical and emotional wellbeing. And the benefits of play don't stop in childhood; they extend to teens and adults too.

There are so many simple ways to support more outdoor play. Our friends at Nature Play WA have plenty of free resources to help you get started at natureplaywa.org.au

Big wins on and off the field at Stan Twight Reserve 🏏⚽️🙌

The reserve has been named Community Facility Project of the Year at the 2026 National Community Cricket Awards. A huge moment for a place that means so much to its community 🏆

The redevelopment boasts modern facilities and upgraded lighting, making it easier for local clubs and the wider community to train, play and come together.

Home to Shoalwater Bay Cricket Club, Safety Bay Stingers Football Club and Rockingham Rams Masters Football Club, the reserve has seen strong growth in recent years, including more women and juniors getting involved.

Supported by the WA Government through the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund, the City of Rockingham. WA Cricket and Cricket Australia, and WA Football through the Australian Football Facilities Fund.

The upgrades are part of the WA Government's PlayOn WA: 2030 by 2030 initiative, which is delivering new and improved community sport infrastructure across the State.

This year marks 20 years of the Western Force! 💙

For 2 decades, the Western Force has been part of WA’s sporting story. From packed stadiums to grassroots clubs, they’ve inspired young Aussies to pick up a ball and give rugby a go.

We’re proud to support RugbyWA and community clubs across the state, helping more young Western Australians get involved, stay active, and feel connected.

Here’s to 20 incredible years and many more to come.
