Research shows that in Queensland, higher student attendance is associated, on average, with higher student achievement. Additionally, attending school every day helps children to build social and emotional skills such as communication, teamwork and resilience.

Under the law, you must make sure your child is enrolled and attends school on all school days unless there is a reasonable excuse. Schools must monitor attendance of students and follow up with parents and caregivers any unexplained absences.

In accordance with the Queensland state school Phones Away for the Day policy, students must hand mobile phones to the office at the start of the day and collect them at the end of the day. Wearable devices may be worn, but notifications must be switched off during school hours.
This policy is guided by the Queensland Department of Education to support student focus, safety and wellbeing.

Our Prep to Year 2 students will be celebrating Under 8's Day this Friday, and we are looking forward to a fun-filled morning of learning, play, and exploration.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of engaging activities designed to celebrate childhood, creativity, curiosity, and community. There will be games, craft activities, face painting, and special visitors to make the day extra memorable.

This will be a student only event.

LOCKDOWN PRACTICE DRILL!!!

We will be conducting a lockdown drill today as part of our ongoing commitment to student and staff safety. These drills are a standard part of our emergency response plan to ensure everyone knows what to do in the unlikely event of a real emergency.

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a secure and prepared learning environment.

We will update parents after the drill.
