As I head into my final week of swimming after 22.5 years of operating my little swim school I would like to thank all the families who have supported me over this time….with special mention to the swimming instructors who enabled me to extend my hours of operation …they are Matt Driessen ..Leesa Mcguire …Jordan Fisher…Zack Harris…Emily Burn and Laura Negri …. and to my husband Steve who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes maintaining the pool and printing certificates 🙏😘

Watching how children have developed their water skills from when they start, some as early as 6 months, to when they finish from age 8 years and older has been truly satisfying and rewarding ……I head into retirement knowing that hundreds of children are out there being happy and safe in the water thanks to their time at Starfish Swim School …

Looking forward to the next stage of my life and please remember out of all the sports and activities that your children will want to participate in ……..swimming is the only one where they learn skills which may one day save their life ….

Lessons are back as normal tomorrow Tusday 19 October … please ensure you are wearing your masks during your visit …. Masks are not required by the adults that are in the pool during water orientation classes …and don’t forget to check in…😀

Term 4 starts tomorrow 11 October ….. I still have spaces in Water Orientation classes suitable for 6 months to 3 years on Wednesday at 1030 am and Thursday 9.30 ….also for beginners learn to swim for and older child on Tuesday at 4.45 … these children can submerge and float, and are learning to glide and kick with a kick board … for any queries or to make a booking please PM … cheers Frances

Term 4 will be starting Monday 11 October and I have the following spots available..
Water orientation … 6 months to 3 yrs with an adult in the pool …
Tuesday 9.30 …Wednesday 10.30 ….
……….Thursday 9.30 & 1030

Learn to swim ….
Monday 10 am ..pre kinder/ kinder class child must be confident in the water as will be in without a parent
Monday 3.45 … prep age ..can swim doggy paddle with breathing and learning backstroke
Tuesday 4.45 .. beginners class for older children ..happy to submerge and glide / float independently
Thursday 4.15 …. Perfect class for child who knows the strokes but struggling with their ex*****on

I’m very happy to let everyone know that I will be continuing to teach swimming til the end of the year 😀😀😀…… we are now half way through the term and if you have been thinking about starting your little one in classes now is a great time as 4 to 5 weeks is a great introduction to water ….. so if you’d like to introduce your 6 month to 3 yo to water in a water orientation class I have spaces available Monday at 930 … Wednesday 930 Thursday 930 and 1030 please PM for any questions or to book in …. Getting Ready to Retire

After 22 years of operating my little swim school here in Lenah Valley …. Steve and I have decided to place the house on the market to enable us to get ready for the next stage of our lives ……. Starfish will continue to operate until a contract is signed and we need to move on … from then on what happens with the pool will be totally dependant on the new owners but it has been a truly rewarding career and a great source of income and I hope the new owners will see the benefits of running a swim school from this great location …… if you know of anyone who may be interested is such an opportunity … the pool comes with a fabulous 3 bedroom home which we like to think is an entertainers delight … please contact Nat at Downton Property 0417434136 or email [email protected]
