On the 12th September, Firefighters from across the state will be climbing up 28 floors in their Structural PPC to raise money to fight cancer, depression and su***de. An absolutely mammoth effort! Leopold is very proud to have 4 of our own participating, Jonty, John, Jameson and Mat! Over the coming weeks, we’ll share a small profile about each of these legends with their individual donation links - each donation to an individual contributes to Leopold’s aggregate amount.

AusAlert is being tested in the Geelong areas of Belmont and Highton on Thursday 18th June at 2pm.

AusAlert is a new national warning system that uses the latest technology to send emergency messages to compatible mobile devices. It’s a fast and reliable way to help people be informed and better prepared during local and national emergencies. There is no action required during the testing period, this post is simply for awareness.

Crews are still battling the bushfire that started in Carlisle River. The fire has now burned 11,600 hectares. The threat is reduced, but the situation is not yet under control.

Crews have been working around the clock, patrolling the perimeter, extinguishing hotspots, undertaking hazardous tree assessments, and working to make access safe for local community members.

Stay vigilant and safe during this fire danger period. Our thoughts and support go out to all those impacted.

Over recent weeks, members of Leopold CFA have been deployed across Victoria to assist with fire operations and communities in need. Our volunteers have worked alongside crews from Mannerim Fire Brigade, Wallington CFA, Ocean Grove Fire Brigade, CFA Portarlington, Drysdale Fire Brigade, Queenscliff Fire Brigade, St Leonards/Indented Head Fire Brigade, and Barwon Heads Fire Brigade

We would like to extend a huge thank you to our neighbouring brigades for the teamwork, support, and camaraderie shown on the fireground.

A special thank you also to our local community for your continued encouragement, kind messages, and support of our volunteers while they are away from home. It truly means a lot to our members and their families.

We are incredibly proud of our volunteers and the commitment they show, both on deployment and here at home.
