HEALESVILLE - IMPOUND

A 32 year old Woori Yallock man will be without his vehicle for at least 30 days after Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol observed him allegedly driving whilst disqualified on Maroondah Highway, Healesville at about 7.20am this morning.

When spotted by our keen-eyed Highway Patrol members, the male decided his best course of action was to enter the local Servo and lock himself in the toilet cubical.
(No doubt praying to the holy air fresheners that he hadn't been seen and the local constabulary would continue to look elsewhere for him.)

Unfortunately for the driver, upon exiting the toilet his prayers had not been answered and his car was impounded for a minimum of 30 days with impound costs of $1555.

The driver will also get a date with the Ringwood Magistrates' Court to explain his actions.

** Removing high-risk and recidivist unauthorised drivers from the roads is a priority for Victoria Police. Unauthorised drivers continue to pose significant risks to the community and themselves, often highly represented in road trauma, traffic offences, and criminal offending. **
