Today is a day of total fire ban across the state of Victoria. Please look at fire plans and keep an eye on the Vic Emergency app. Stay cool and keep yourself and pets hydrated over the coming days. Remember to check in on neighbours.

Good morning Lima South community.
It is lovely to see some clearer skies this morning in our beautiful part of the world. However, as we know, we are still in the fire danger period. It is important that we remain aware of conditions and stay prepared.

Some practical things we can do include:
- checking our emergency kits and replenishing supplies if needed.
- remembering to prepare emergency kits for pets as well.
- considering where you would go if you needed to leave in an emergency.
-checking in on neighbours and asking how they are going.
- Continuing to stay informed, including keeping an eye on Fire Danger Ratings.

Thank you for looking out for yourselves and each other.

Kind Regards,
Marnie
Lima South Community safety coordinator

From Mitzi,

Hi Everyone,
How grateful we can be that Lima South has not been directly impacted by the fires over these last few days. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to all the communities that have suffered such devastating losses.
Lima South CFA volunteers have attended many call outs, and will participate in strike teams to continue fighting the fires over the coming days/weeks.
Whilst the immediate threat to Lima South has lessened the situation remains volatile, with the fire season having a long way to go.
These are the times where we can support one another.
Brooke and Mark from Midland Caravan Park have generously offered free meals to anyone from Lima South who would like them. A good chance to share a meal and have a chat after a stressful few days.
Stay safe, keep an eye on the various Emergency Services alerts, and remember to support those around you.

A message from our friends in Swanpool.

Good morning Swanpool, I expect many of you, like us, will be tired from preparing your farms/houses, packing Go Bags and planning where you'll go and how you'll get there if you're going to leave. Good on you. That's time well spent.
At the moment I'm finding it helpful to have the local (old fashioned battery operated) radio tuned to ABC (97.7FM) which is providing almost continual updates, plus I'm regularly checking the BOM and Windy apps. I also follow the VicEmergency page for more information. I check outside too. I'm keeping in touch with my neighbours too.
How are you staying informed?
Take care out there.
Jessica, Swanpool CFA Community Safety Officer
