This afternoon, the Linden crew proudly attended the Woodford Dusk ANZAC Service, standing alongside active service men and women to pay our respects and honour those who have served our nation.

It was also wonderful to be joined by Trish Doyle, local Member for the Blue Mountains, along with Romola Hollywood, Clare West, and Brent H***e from BMCC.

It was fantastic to see such a great turnout from our local residents, with the community coming together to commemorate this important occasion.

Today our crew teamed up with Glenbrook / Lapstone and headed out of area to the Southern Highlands for the Bargo hazard reduction 🔥

Even after the fire has passed through, high temperatures can still be lurking deep within tree root systems — pesky things that like to hang around!

Great teamwork and a solid reminder that the job isn’t done when the flames are gone 💪

FUEL MANAGEMENT BURN NOTIFICATION | BLUE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK
Crews from NPWS will be undertaking an important Hazard Reduction (HR) burn commencing Thursday 9 April 2026.
This HR will be a continuation of the Massif Ridge HR in the Blue Mountains National Park, south of Woodford/Linden/Faulconbridge.
Smoke from this burn will be visible from across the Blue Mountains and Penrith LGAs. Please only call Triple Zero (000) if you see an unattended fire.
Parts of Blue Mountains National Park will be closed until the area is deemed safe.

Some people start their Saturday with a sleep in… apparently we start ours before the sun even considers showing up. 😴☕

Today the Linden crew teamed up with the legends from Blaxland RFS to man the Alum Creek checkpoint for the Six Foot Track Marathon.

When the alarm clocks went off at ridiculous-o’clock, the only logical solution was to combine forces, drink excessive amounts of coffee, and cheer on a few thousand runners questioning their life choices.

When the pager goes off, the weather doesn’t matter — so neither does it at training.
Pouring rain? Even better. That’s where resilience is built.

Even when the Linden crew commandeers Woodford 7 — we show up and we put in the work. 🙊

Linden RFS proudly hosted the Central Sector training scenario for 14 new FF1 / FF2 trainees today. Great energy, strong teamwork and outstanding effort all round.

BUSHFIRE | HURLEY HEIGHTS TRAIL, BLUE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK (Blue Mountains LGA)

ADVICE: NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service crews are hard at work dealing with a bush fire today in a remote area of the Blue Mountains National Park, North of Hazelbrook and South of the Grose River.

No properties are under threat at this time however, residents in the area should monitor conditions over the coming days as we experience elevated fire danger ratings across the region.

Crews will continue working to contain the fire over the next few days in difficult terrain in remote country.

Smoke may be visible from the Great Western Highway, and lookout points around the North side of the Great Western Highway overlooking the Grose Valley.
