This Father’s Day, take Dad for a drive to Linville 🤎

Start with great coffee, a true country breakfast or lunch with indoor and outdoor seating or take away, Dad-approved Cakes in a Can and plenty of other treats (you may not expect to find in a tiny town) at Linville Café.

While you’re in town, browse the Linville Markets and local artists’ work for sale at Station Handmade.

Then…..take dad for a well earned b**r with live music in the b**r garden from 11.30am at our lovely neighbour’s at the Linville Hotel. Also offering a great lunch and dinner feed.

We’re open Sunday 7.30am–2pm, with last kitchen orders at 1.30pm.

Come hungry. Bring Dad. Make a day of Linville. 🚗☕️🌿

He picked his moment… this road doesn’t stay quiet for long. 😂🐔

Population 133… except on weekends. 😂

This little country town is under 2 hours from Brisbane, 1.5 hours from the Sunshine Coast and has a bit of extra buzz once the weekend rolls around.

🚲 Bikes roll in off the rail trail.
🏍️ Motorbikes roll through on their scenic adventure.
☕ Coffee starts flying out.
🍳 Country breakfasts hit the tables.
⛺ Campers settle in across the road.
🎶 The pub fires up the live music.
🎨 The old station opens its doors.

And suddenly our town of 133 doesn’t feel quite so small.

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to take a country drive this weekend, here it is.

Linville Café — worth the drive.

This is the kind of regional small-business support that means a lot to us. ❤️

Chris from Kilcoy Tennis Academy has been a wonderful supporter of ours online, and this weekend he brought his family out to Linville for lunch.

We had a great chat about small business, regional communities and the passion that goes into building something you genuinely care about.

Now, my tennis days are probably well and truly behind me 😂🎾, but it was obvious how passionate Chris is about teaching, encouraging and mentoring young people through the sport.

So if you’re in the Kilcoy/Somerset area and have a budding tennis player in the family, go and give Kilcoy Tennis Academy some support.

Thanks Chris — for the incredibly kind words, for making the drive, and for always backing local businesses. ❤️

Regional businesses backing regional businesses. That’s how little towns thrive.

Things you might NOT expect to find at a country café… but ABSOLUTELY will here 👀

🍰 Cakes in a Can (made fresh by us)
🥤 Cold brew with flavoured cold foam - elite flavours
🍹 Dirty sodas - in a can - addictive!! 🤤
🥪 Pulled brisket sourdough with dipping gravy, hot honey buffalo chicken and Ruben’s! - Gourmet Country!!
☕ Seriously good coffee
🦙 And this SUNDAY … you can even book to walk a llama on the BVRT with Ottaba Llama

And the things you DO hope to find at a proper country café? And will also find here

🍰 Homemade baked goods (not just in a can 😜)
🫖 Tea served in a lovely teapot
🍳 Big country brekkies - served right through till 1.30pm
🥘 Our seriously good savoury mince
🥓BLT that has made a name for itself on the BVRT
🥛 Proper old-school milkshakes — extra ice cream, served in the classic silver shaker if dining in.

All in Linville, QLD — population 133.

A little country café with a few surprises up its sleeve.

Come for the drive. Stay for the food.
And this Sunday only - maybe walk a llama while you’re here 🦙

LIMITED BATCH THIS FRIDAY 👀🔥

We’re trialling a brand new sourdough toastie tomorrow… and this one could be dangerous. 🤤

Pulled Beef Brisket Sourdough
Tender pulled beef brisket, melted cheese, caramelised onion and BBQ tomato relish, toasted on sourdough and served with our house-made dipping gravy on the side.

We’re only making a limited batch for Friday to see what you think.

Love it enough and it may just earn a permanent spot on the menu. 👏

Friday only, while they last.

We asked a few riders what keeps bringing them back to Linville…

“You, Megan.”
“You, Megan.”
“Your coffee and toasties.” 😂🤎

Okay… fair enough. We will take that. ❤️🙏

But then we asked what they love about this section of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail — and that’s where it got really good.

The prettiest section.
The smells.
The adventure.
The scary dips.
And somehow, it just keeps getting better every time.

This Wednesday social riding group, led by Gary Moyle, tackles a different part of the BVRT each week, and about every six weeks their ride brings them back our way to Linville.

One of the things we love most is meeting riders through this group, then seeing them return another day with friends, another riding group or their families.

That’s the magic of the BVRT.

You might come for the ride…
but there’s usually more than one reason to come back.

Come see what keeps them coming back.

This Sunday = Llamas & Lattes in Linville 🦙☕️ Sunday 23 August.

Ottaba Llamas will be joining us at Linville Café from 10am–2pm for a gorgeous country day out.

Take a llama for a walk along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, then head back to the café for a coffee, cold brew, breakfast or lunch.

You can message or call Ottaba Llamas to book your walk, or just rock up on the day and hopefully there’ll still be availability.

Even if you’re not doing the walk, come and meet the llamas while they’re hanging out in our garden area between sessions and enjoy a Sunday in Linville.

An experience not to be missed — and this Sunday, there are even more reasons to make the drive to Linville. 🦙☕️❤️

How far can $6 travel in a tiny town? ☕️❤️

Turns out, a lot further than you might think.

There’s often so much more behind the doors of a small country business than what you see from the outside.

That $6 helps keep local people employed, supports local producers and keeps the doors of small businesses open all year round.

Because supporting a tiny town isn’t something businesses like ours do occasionally.

It’s what we do every single day.

And Linville isn’t alone.

There are small businesses doing exactly this in tiny towns all over Australia. 🇦🇺

Is that you — or is there a little business in a tiny town that you love?

We had the loveliest visitors to Linville last weekend. 🥰

Meet some of the ladies from Rolling Solo — a group of women who get together, pack up and head off camping together. This time they chose lLinville for a two-night getaway. ❤️

There was cycling on the rail trail, walking, cards, visits to us and the Linville Hotel… and apparently plans to come back. 😉

And of course, one particularly famous feathered visitor came along too. 🦆😂 meet Duck.

Kate sent us the loveliest message afterwards:

“The service was excellent. The food was great and the environment very welcoming… Ducks included.”

This is one of our favourite things about living and working in a tiny town — watching people arrive as visitors, settle in for a couple of days, explore, meet people and leave already talking about coming back.

Thanks for choosing Linville, ladies. We loved having you. ❤️
