Last nights AGM saw Scott Foster presented an Appreciation Award Plaque for his dedication to the community through the Jiggi Vally Rural Fire Brigade 2004-2024, (accepted behalf of Scott by Grant Flemming).
This will be hung in the Brigade Shed

Last nights AGM saw the awarding of NSW Premier's Flood Emergency Citation's presented to Members of our Brigade;
Bevan Whitney, Charles Wilkinson, Jerry Grace, Iain Stych, Matt Nicholls & Wayne Sigley for contribution to the response efforts during the major floods that impacted NSW in 2022.

The Bush Fire Danger Period ends on Tuesday the 31st of March at 12pm.
Though permits are not required you still must notify your neighbors and the Fire Control Center before lighting a fire.

Members from Jiggi Valley, Stony Chute Rural Fire Brigade,Blue K**b and Nimbin Rural Fire Brigadebegan their journey to complete the qualification of Advanced Fire Fighter. It started in August of this year, and they completed the course by the end of October. With in this qualification, they had to complete competencies of four units. Crew Safety Awareness, Hydraulics, Wild Fire Behaviour and Navigation. This was a big undertaking for the members and should be proud of their accomplishments.

On Sunday, members from Jiggi Valley and Stony Chute completed their, two day, chainsaw course. Having them qualified as chainsaw operators, they will be an asset to the community when we get storms. Well done guys!

This weekend we had two new members from our brigade along with a member from Nimbin complete their FF qualification. This means now that they can turn out on the fire truck and assist the community in an emergency.

Our truck responded to a grass fire yesterday afternoon and assisted Nimbin Firebrigade putting it out. Well done to all crews for a great result.
