Less than 6wks to go until Jiggi Valley Rural Fire Brigade promote "Get Ready Weekend" at the Jiggi Spring Fair on the 12th September

This Sunday, more than 20 fire trucks and 100 firefighters from across the Northern Rivers will come together in Casino for the Northern Rivers District Exercise.

As we prepare for the upcoming fire season, this exercise will ensure our members are ready to respond when called upon and that our equipment is operating as it should. The day will provide realistic training opportunities to strengthen operational capability, teamwork and preparedness so we can continue to protect our communities.

While we’re preparing, we encourage everyone in our community to do the same. Now is the time to prepare your property, reduce bush fire hazards where appropriate, and ensure you have a current Bush Fire Survival Plan in place before the fire season begins.

If you’re in the Casino area on Sunday, you may notice an increased emergency service presence. Please be aware that this is a planned training exercise, and there is no cause for concern.
