Meet Ramen 🍜

A sweet, slightly nervous boy who takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he’s all soft eyes, gentle affection and questionable facial expressions.

He may not understand what “smile” means, but he’s very happy to cooperate.

And yes, he is extremely handsome.

All throughout the year, animals arrive at our shelter as strays. Without a microchip, far too few are able to be matched back to their original owners, where they go on to be rehomed or transferred to rescue organisations.

Over the past year, less than half of our stray dogs and just 11% of stray cats were reunited with their families.

A microchip can make all the difference.

If you own a pet:
- Make sure they are microchipped
- Keep your contact details up to date
- If you rehome your animal, make sure the microchip is transferred to the new owner
- If you've recently adopted an animal, check the chip has been transferred into your name

Need to microchip your animal? We offer microchipping by scheduled appointment, or you can book an appointment with your local vet.

A microchip only works if the information attached to it is current.

Anchovy has been matched with her furever family! 🐾💖

From Anchovy to Juno - this gorgeous little girl has officially found her forever home.

She will happily play with a broken toy while surrounded by intact toys and a cattery floor covered in even more options. Apparently, she knows what she likes! 😹

We’re so happy this sweet, playful little girl has found her people. Enjoy your happily ever after, Juno!

Can you help me find my way home? 🐾

This gorgeous mini foxie was found yesterday in Lithgow and is hoping to be reunited with his family as soon as possible.

The microchip is not up to date and so we have not been able to get in contact with the owner.

Kernel’s matched with his furever family🐾❤️

Gorgeous Kernel headed off to his new home this week, and we couldn’t be happier to hear that he’s already settled in and loving life! 🥰

Squash could often be found snoozing out the front, keeping an eye on everything going on like a good guardian of the shelter…

If there's pats on offer though, it's every man (or dog) for themselves 😂

We're so happy that Squash (now Ace) has found his furever home, but Rhubarb is still waiting for his. Rhubarb is such a funny, affectionate boy and we'd love to see him get his own happy ending too.

This beautiful young cat was found today and is hoping to be reunited with his family as soon as possible, despite the fact that he has made himself quite at home 😹

He is not microchipped and so we cannot get in contact with the owner.

Squash has been adopted 🎉🐾

And he's got a new name for his new life - Introducing Ace!

This gorgeous kelpie has always had a few little quirks that make us smile… including that adorable tongue that just has to make an appearance whenever he's getting some good pats 😂

Ace is a nervous boy who needed someone calm and patient to see his full potential, and we're so incredibly happy that we got to be part of his journey and help bridge the gap between him and his furever home ❤️

He heads off to his new home in just a few days, and we couldn't be happier for him. We can't wait to see this beautiful boy start his next chapter and discover just how wonderful life can be.

You've definitely earned all the sunshine, pats and love in the world, Ace.

PORRIDGE IS ADOPTED! 🎉

And he has a new name to match his new life - meet Eddie!

Eddie would be quite happy to have pats and cuddles alllll day. He very clearly approves of his complimentary spa massage 💆‍♀️

But the best part is that Eddie now has his very own family, his very own home, and a whole new chapter ahead of him starting next week!

We are SO excited for Eddie and his new life, and we can't wait to see him head off to his forever home ❤️🐾

Next stop: home, Eddie! 🥹
