Class of the Week - Term 3 Week 7 - 3/4 Aqua

This week, 3-4 Aqua students tackled the challenge of measuring and comparing objects using metres, centimetres, and millimetres. Their success criteria:

🔹 Estimate lengths and distances using known lengths as benchmarks, in metres, and check by measuring
🔹 Select and use an appropriate scaled instrument to measure lengths and distances

The class took their maths lesson outside, exploring our school’s COLA, basketball court, and soccer field. They measured the length and perimeter in metres, using their estimation skills first and then checking for accuracy with trundle wheels. It was a fantastic hands-on activity, helping them see the practical side of maths and teamwork!

PSSA Girls Hockey – Western Region Runners-Up

Yesterday, our girls’ hockey team travelled to Parkes to compete in the Western Region Grand Final. Although the result didn’t go in our favour, the girls fought hard and displayed outstanding sportsmanship and determination throughout the game.

We are incredibly proud of our team for being Western Region runners-up. Well done, girls!

The Big Freeze Jersey & Beanie Day 🧊💙

Today, Cooerwull Public School students celebrated The Big Freeze Jersey and Beanie Day, helping to raise funds and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Students embraced the spirit of the day by wearing their favourite footy, soccer and sporting jerseys, along with some wonderfully bright and colourful beanies.

A highlight of the day was seeing our very own Mr Foster take on the challenge of having a bucket of ice-cold water thrown over his head in support of this important cause! The students certainly thought this was hilarious and thoroughly enjoyed watching him take the plunge.

Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our students and families, we raised over $220 for this very special cause.

We are incredibly proud of our students for getting behind such an important initiative and showing their support for those affected by MND.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make the day such a success. We hope you enjoy looking through the photos! 💙🧊

Book Week - Symphony of Stories

Yesterday we celebrated Book Week here at Cooerwull Public School. Our students looked amazing and it was fantastic to see so many students participating. A special thank you to Sharon Lewis from Lithgow Library who joined us for our celebrations and handed out the Lithgow Library Colouring competition awards. Congratulations to all our students who received an award.
