💭Did you that donating blood can save up to three lives?

A number of volunteers at NSW SES Liverpool Unit are regular donors. Pairing with NSW SES Fairfield Unit, volunteers came together to promote the annual Australian Red Cross Lifeblood National Emergency Services Blood Drive (May-July).
NSW SES finished fifth overall, contributing 741 donations and saving 2223 lives.
What an impact! Every drop counts.

Thank you to all the legendary donors out there!

‼️HAPPENING NOW‼️
Multiple trees down throughout the LGA due to the strong winds earlier. Thank you to the community for your patience whilst our volunteers attend to them in order of priority.

🔸 Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
🔸 Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
🔸 Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
🔸 Stay vigilant and monitor conditions

☎️ Contact the NSW SES at 132 500 for emergency help during floods and storms.

🚨 A new national warning system is being tested TODAY across Australia with NSW residents receiving alerts at 2pm.

Your mobile devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and smart watches, may receive a test alert.
The message will vibrate and include a loud, siren-like sound that lasts about 10 seconds.

The AusAlert is a new national warning system that uses the latest technology to send emergency messages to compatible mobile devices.

It will be ready to use in October 2026, but before it launches, we need to test the system across Australia.

⚠️ If this could disrupt you or cause you or a loved one to feel unsafe, please turn off your mobile devices or switch them to aeroplane mode before the scheduled test time in your location, and leave them off for at least one hour.

As this is just a test, you don’t need to do anything, but in an actual disaster you should follow the alert instructions to keep yourself and others safe.

🎊NoWeCuDAA Official Launch🎊

Two senior leadership volunteers from NSW SES Liverpool unit attended the official launch of the North West Cultural Development Association Australia (NoWeCuDAA). Valuable information about NSW SES and community safety was shared through a brief presentation followed by a night full of celebration, cultural entertainment, food and networking (+lots of dancing). 💃🕺

🤝Attending events like this offers opportunities to work towards building a strong and resilient community together, across the Liverpool LGA and beyond. It was a delight to be able to embrace the North West Cameroon culture and vibrant spirit.
Thank you to the Northwest Cameroon Cultural & Development Association Australia for having us. 🧡

TAFE NSW Australia Expo
📣What a fantastic day! This unique event connected students who are migrants, refugees, and those with English as a second language - with essential Australian services in a safe, welcoming, and culturally aware environment.
Those that attended the TAFE NSW Liverpool campus learnt about the NSW SES combat roles and services provided, volunteering, career pathways, driver/flood safety and more!

Thank you TAFE NSW for the invitation to this well-organised and important event. Attending events like this helps gain exposure, build confidence, trust, and familiarity with Australian emergency and community services. 💪

👏👏👏Congratulations to recently qualified Land-based Flood Rescue Operators Harrison and Jason!
🏊Earlier this week, both these NSW SES Liverpool volunteers endured the Land-based Flood Rescue Course run at Penrith Whitewater Stadium. This demanding course provides learners the skills and knowledge to perform land-based swiftwater and floodwater rescues and recoveries as a member of a specialist team.

It was not an easy feat, well done boys and thank you to all the trainers and support team. Additional Flood Rescue Operators increase the flood rescue capability and ability to support the local community when needed most.💪

🚨 A new national warning system is being tested TODAY in the Liverpool area at 4pm in the area near the intersection of Heathcote and Newbridge Roads.

If you are in the test area, or neighbouring suburbs including Liverpool, Moorebank, Warwick Farm, Milperra and Casula, your mobile devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and smart watches, may receive a test alert.

⚠️ Phones and devices that receive the test alert may vibrate and emit a loud, siren-like sound that will last for approximately 10 seconds.

This is a part of planned trials of the new system, AusAlert is designed to deliver faster alerts, reach more people and remain reliable even during network congestion.

🧡🧡National Volunteer Week is currently being observed, with Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day) today serving as a national tribute to State Emergency Volunteers across Australia who volunteer countless hours to provide critical support during natural disasters like floods, storms, and tsunamis.
Volunteers from Liverpool SES took a break from regular training last night, coming together to celebrate WOW day with a casual dinner and team-building event.🧡🧡
