⛈️STORM OPERATORS⛈️
Just in time for storm season 2026! 🎉Congratulations to all the new Storm Operators on your new qualification and giving it your all over the four week course. 👏👏👏
The most recent group of NSW SES volunteers (a mix of Liverpool members plus a NSW SES Fairfield Unit member) were deemed competent in Storm Ground and Heights. They had a blast while learning a new skillset to assist their community in times of need. The biggest and highest risk component is setting up Height Safety Kits (HSK), a safety system operators use to get onto and move around roofs safely.
🫶Thank you to the trainers, assessors and support involved with delivering these courses. There's a lot that happens behind the scenes to have these courses running professionally, smoothly and regularly.

💪TRAINING TUESDAYS💪
Every Tuesday, NSW SES Liverpool volunteers meet up for muster and training. Training could be courses to learn and expand skills required for certain NSW SES operator pathways or just skills maintenance, professional development and more!

⛑️Members from several other units, along with some from Liverpool unit, are currently undertaking the Participate In A Rescue Operation (PIARO) course. The rest of Liverpool members participated in a PIARO-type exercise intended to test their skills, team work and capacity to work in high-stress situations. The exercise involved multiple dummy casualties, first aid and tight working spaces - just to name a few.

CAMPBELLTOWN CHALLENGE
🥉Congratulations to NSW SES Liverpool team, who placed third in the overall challenge.
Yesterday, 12 teams from across the state came together to compete in the Campbelltown Challenge hosted by NSW SES Campbelltown Unit. The full-day event comprised of six stands, aimed towards newer members, designed to simulate real emergency scenarios and strengthen operational readiness.
🤝Friendly competition, inter-unit bonding and unforgettable memories were in full force on the day.
👏Thank you and well done to the Campbelltown Challenge Committee, all those involved with support and assistance and to all participants.

Watch out, NSW SES Liverpool will be back next time to claim the top spot!👋Until next time...

Today is all about genuinely asking "are you OK?". It is important to make asking "are you OK?" a good habit to give someone the opportunity to open up to you. Saving someone's life could be as easy as starting that meaningful conversation, genuinely listening without judgement and checking-in.

NSW SES Liverpool volunteers spent their usual weekly muster and training night focused on this important messaging. The volunteers were joined by a group of newly accepted Liverpool Unit members, who also participated without hesitation. The night was spent sharing a bite to eat, having inquisitive conversations and playing several party games (with prizes!).

🚨OPERATIONAL WRAP UP🚨
With a few additional incidents that came through yesterday, the total local incidents since Saturday comes to 45.
Thank you and well done to the volunteers that attended to these over the last couple of days, especially with Father’s day being celebrated on the weekend.

Storms can become extremely dangerous, causing destructive winds, heavy rainfall, damaging hail and flash flooding. 📣HAPPY FATHER'S DAY📣
From NSW SES Liverpool Unit, thank you to all you wonderful fathers, dads, papas, pops and father-figure roles out there! The winds are settling down and the sun is out. For those not currently out attending to incidents due to the damaging winds yesterday, enjoy the day spent with those that love you - you legends. 🧡

The team spent a day at Bunnings Warehouse Australia Hoxton Park to celebrate Father's Day with the community. Did you come by to have a chat with the volunteers, have a go at the flood rescue challenge or was lucky enough to see the mascot Paddy the platypus? 📷 Let us know and share the photos!

Due to the hot weather and damaging winds experienced today, almost 40 incidents were called in (and counting). With assistance from NSW SES Campbelltown Unit and NSW SES Canterbury Unit, multiple NSW SES Liverpool Unit teams are in the field attending to these incidents.

Thank you to the community for their patience and understanding as our volunteers progress through the incidents received. If you have called 132 500 but no longer need assistance, please call back to allow teams to attend other incidents.

💭Did you that donating blood can save up to three lives?

A number of volunteers at NSW SES Liverpool Unit are regular donors. Pairing with NSW SES Fairfield Unit, volunteers came together to promote the annual Australian Red Cross Lifeblood National Emergency Services Blood Drive (May-July).
NSW SES finished fifth overall, contributing 741 donations and saving 2223 lives.
What an impact! Every drop counts.

Multiple trees down throughout the LGA due to the strong winds earlier. Thank you to the community for your patience whilst our volunteers attend to them in order of priority.
